If Searle isn’t fired tonight we are going down. Clueless.

0-0 HT. Clearly the better side but not quite found the quality in the final third. So much room down the middle for us to exploit.

Notts 0-3 Barrow, again we bottle a ‘big’ game after losing at in-form Yeovil, Bromley, and the derby at Chesterfield.

Credit to Barrow though, best team I’ve seen this season and will be up there come April. Evatt looks to have done an excellent job. Bit of shithousery, but who doesn’t do that these days?

Shithousery is required to compete when you've got teams like Solihull in this league.

We were like Solihull under Cox to be fair.

Completely agree.

However, he should not be immune from criticism and our record defending set pieces is appalling.

I feel sorry for Currie but it's incredibly frustrating to have to write off an entire season this early.

The damage that Still caused cannot be underestimated. He was given a budget last season that only Salford and Orient will have bettered to sign an entire squad of his own when we already had some decent players signed up from the season before, and blew it all on about a dozen average players within about 3-4 weeks.

Having said that, Currie can't be absolved of blame when he turned down multiple forwards over a period of 9 months before eventually settling for the average Pavey, the bizarre re-signing of Fonguck who has barely been seen, and the crazy 6 month loan deal for youngster Rowan who was so bad we have sent him back despite him still being eligible until the new year - what was wrong with a 28 day loan?

I can't help but feel that an organised 442 can see us grind out results, but Currie is never going to do that.

The amount of possession we had we should have won that game easily. Bloody stupid lapse from a free kick cost us massively.

Yet again when we have a chance to go top we blow it. At least we still have a game in hand over everyone but Barrow to go top.

After bumbling past Chorley 1-0 last week in the cup with possibly our worst performance of the season I feel better now they’ve gone and beat chesterfield 3-2

Did we just do a win?

You fully deserved it, we were atrocious. Fortunately it looks like most of the other play off contenders were equally bad today.

No surprise Barrow are top, easily the best side I've seen us play so far (and they had 10 men for most of the game).

Currie has made mistakes - but these are expected. Still signed under-average players on two year deals for good wages - as soon as we were 5-10 games into last season we knew both that season and this one would be sacrificed. We tried to pay off the deadwood but of course they’ve stayed for their money - they won’t get it anywhere else.

Let Currie learn and develop over this season - let him make mistakes and learn from them - while he builds his football philosophy within the club. Next season - as long as TK gives his support (which we all know is never guaranteed) - lets free up the wages from the deadwood, builds team around J Taylor + Loach and lets see who DC is capable of bringing in.

This season has always been void from the moment we saw Stills signing be shit for the 5th game running. That’s not DC’s doing or fault. It’s a perfect opportunity for him to learn.

Some win for Barrow that. Evatt will be getting looked at by League clubs.

He will, but I'd like to think he'll wait for the right job rather than just jump at any League 2 team that comes calling. Wasn't tempted by Fylde, so teams like Carlisle surely don't interest him either.

Yes - set pieces is a huge weakness. Can a weakness be expected with a young manager? Yes. Can we be annoyed if it keeps happening? Of course - I agree, he needs to develop and improve this.

The lack of a striker and nature of our squad at the moment is not one I lay blame at his door for though. His signings have, on average, been 200x better than Stills - a manager who is apparently known for his ability to make smart, clever signings. He needs the time to lose the deadwood (as I’ve said before - Alexander, Reynolds, Boucard etc) and bring in players of his own philosophy and choosing. We have a bloated squad - so give him the time to benefit from the freed up wages when we are able to let/make them depart ffs
any chance we can play you next?

Cowley must have slipped Virgo a fiver to get himself a mention on the highlights programme there.

Fylde? Haven't heard that name for a long time. Anybody know where they are now? :ds:

Can't wait to read about how we played dirty and had the ref on our side etc.

No complaints from me, you were quicker to the ball, direct but not hoofers and posed a threat all game.
We were slow, pedestrian and unless Ardley drops Rose or Doyle and stops with the two holding midfielders we're going to blow it and he'll be down the road.
Actually pretty annoyed tonight with that performance. It needed changing at half time and Rose needs a rest for his own good.
Worryingly bad , four points from twelve, things need to change.

Absolutely did a number on us and showed us up for the preening knock-it-about-for-no-purpose Charlies that we are. Best team in this league by a mile, shithousery and attacking ruthlessness. You reminded me of Lincoln under Cowley.

Unfortunately though my lad never wants to watch Notts ever again so thanks for that.

Well, we finally got a win, 3-2 away at Chesterfield, Charles Vernam has made an immediate impact with 2 goals today, so thanks to Grimsby, can we keep him for the rest of the season, please?

2 footed tackle straight in our players shin. Most obvious red you’ll ever see. Nobber.

Seems very mixed opinions on it from several sources I’ve seen. Sounds like we might appeal it based on Wilds comments. Clarke isn’t the sort of player to hurt someone with intent.

I think it was mistimed rather than anything intentional. It looked a poor challenge though.

Currie has learnt absolutely nothing. 4 games in a row we concede from free kick/corner and still make the same mistakes. He doesn't know how to change tactics, only able to play one way. I know we haven't got a very tall striker(which we have been missing all season) so why the hell keep putting high balls into the box when only midgets are there. Currie needs to step back and let an experienced manager come in to try to get the players playing more than one way, otherwise before anyone realises, we will be in a relegation battle. Don't say we are too good to go down, because these players don't give a shit and are only playing out the stupid high contracts that Still gave them.
