No criticism of Currie. He’s done well to get us challenging given the bloated and unbalanced squad he inherited.

I rate Currie very highly.

Me too. Whatever division we are in next season, I think he will really excel when he is able to build his own squad.

Yes, he’s shown the ability to be flexible in his tactics to deal with changing circumstances and managed to get us out of a bad run plus the players he has managed to bring in have been excellent (except for Pavey). Jack Taylor really pushed on this season under his management to earn his move to Peterborough.
Moreover, the way he conducts himself off the pitch and with the fans does him nothing but credit. Just think of previous managers such as Sanchez and McGhee who were utterly contemptuous of the club and the fans...

Is Currie still on a 6 month rolling contract? Need to show him some faith and tie him down...

Might be time for Fylde to think about removing those '2022 Stop us if you can banners' from around the ground

Great work Jim Bentley !!

We lost our first League match for 2 months and consequently are only 4th in the table, so we've got a 3 page thread going on our forum arguing whether Pete Wild is a fraud and whether he has a Plan B or not. We can do this because we're a REAL club and we're massive and this is what really massive clubs do when they lose. As far as I can gather, Plan A is what a manager has when he wins and Plan B is something he doesn't have when he loses. I'm intrigued, I've read a lot about Plan B on here too, can anyone shed anymore light on this magical Plan B and advise where I can get one? :ds:

I’m surprised there wasn’t any real criticism last season when you went down seemingly without pride or a fight, losing one six-pointer/winnable game after another. The only reasons I can think of for that were that he was new and the problems were more deep-seated.

Now, the only reason I can think of for keeping him on is that you still have a good chance of finishing top 7 and in this league anyone can beat anyone.

He has to go if we don’t finish in the top seven, but I expect we probably will.

My issue isn’t really where we are in the league, under the circumstances he’s done... not that badly. It’s just the whole approach that’s starting to annoy people, his whole demeanour is completely defeatist and it informs the way we approach games.

The first thing he said after the game on Saturday was that he ‘hopes we can nick something at Fylde’. I mean, come on.

He's worked a minor miracles to get you there - finishing anywhere in the top 7 will be an achievement given where you were a few weeks before the season started.

Did anyone think it was a good appointment at the time? It didn’t seem to fit for me
Not for me it didn't. Two completely different managers, and Bentley doesn't have a winning mentality either. At Morecambe, he played for draws all the time, picking up a few wins long the way.

It was a good move for him in some respects, but probably the wrong choice.

Point of note here

Halifax aren't a real club, they are an AFC phoenix club who's fans didn't care enough first time round

We're 13 points off top and 14 points off relegation. We're 5th. Ridiculous league.

As far as I can work out you're a Torquay fan who's previous posts mostly consist of hating on other clubs, so other than advise you to check the veracity of your opinion with the FA, we'll leave it at that, Brother. :ds:

We're The Shaymen, we've been spoilt by our illustrious history and we expect better than losing to the likes of Torquay. He needs to shape up, and deliver the success and beautiful football we're accustomed to, or he'll go the same way we sent that Muppet Neil Aspin. :ds:

The only winners out of that is us. Challinor has taken over a team who are getting fitter by the week and want to play for him. We always had enough decent players in the squad to compete and now it’s starting to show. All we needed was a proper manager who knows how to win. Think we may’ve left it late this season but next season I’d back us to do well.

Looking like Dover, Halifax and a host of former Football League clubs battling it out for 4th - 7th.

Barrow, Harrogate and Boreham Wood all looking good for top 3.

Most definitely not a Torquay fan. We have come perilously close to admin/liquidation enough times ourselves not to mock you for it . In fact I'm fairly sure we are heading that way again with the huge debts currently being racked up. :(

Aye, could argue Solihull too, especially since they shipped McCallum out to your lot too.

We ran out of steam a long time ago, barring a couple of decent home wins at home to Yeovil and Hartlepool recently. We’ve only got ONE away point since November.

I saw Bromley have only picked up 19 points from their last 20 matches. Didn’t realise they’d been quite that bad.
