Another 3 points for us, had to win ugly today though, very poor first half, more energy second half then the difference with a superb Alex Newby piledriver into the top corner. 10 points from last 4 games.

This whole division is absurd.
A few seasons back we beat Halifax 7-0 at home, then when we played them away we were 3-0 down after half an hour.
The joys of the National League.

Is Vernam still looking good?

Decent little run for Chorley who looked like they were gonna draw their way back down.

Absolutely no idea what's going to happen next week. Could be 3-1 either way, the only certainty is County will score in the 93rd minute

Aldershot (and Boreham Wood, apparently )
Strange game at the Rec today, dull first half ,Chesterfield well organised, and set up to keep it tight. Shots got 45th. min. penalty. Game opened up 2nd.half, Chesterfield went for it, and ultimately got the point they deserved through sheer perseverance, and the usual poor Shots defending. Will be a bottom-of -the -heap dogfight for both these teams, I fear.

We were lucky it was only 1-0 to Chorley, our season is over on the promotion/play off front. Now need to stay up, we’ve lost 8 in 11 now.

This league is all about winning ugly. Now that you know that, you've got a chance.

Then the fans turned on the team and the chairman. Just as they had done when we walloped you 4-0 two years earlier. Fickle fans, as I said. :ds:

Wrexham bottom and Barrow top of the league, who’d of predicted that. Can’t see Wrexham finishing in the bottom 4 cause they only need to be average over the 2nd half of the season to stay up.
Great to see Barrow doing well, but can they stay there?

It's non league.

1-24, we're all shit.
Yeah but, like Orwell said, some are more shit than others (he was actually misquoted on the other thing). Something else he was misquoted on, 4 fans good, 2 fans even better. :ds:

You wouldn't want him back, he's crap, just leave him here to gain extra game time., he has been outstanding, quality player, seriously would love to keep him if we could afford him.

Darren Kelly must not have been in charge for the second one. Jim Harvey did a great job when he took over and somehow almost kept us up when we were dead and buried.

Reckon you can keep it up? Definitely the form team
We hope so - we had a slight blip against Chorley on Tuesday drawing 2-2;- but even then we came from 0-2 down to draw and hit the woodwork twice after getting it back to 2-2. Yesterday was normal service resumed. By all accounts we should have won by about 5 at Notts County and could have hit 7 or 8 against both Barnet and Maidenhead if their keepers hadn't played out of their skin.

Embarrassingly bad from Maidenhead today.
Barrow played us off the park and looked very good. Certainly the best team I've seen for a while....or are we the worst!!??
In our last 4 matches 3 of the 4 opposing teams have said we are by far the best team they have faced this season. You're no worse than Barnet were last week.

Played 14 won 12 drew 1 lost 1...
that's our current form
IF we can keep anything remotely like that form up for the next 14 games we'll have a great chance.... IF....

What happens if Barra go up? How do they plan to get their ground up to scratch, safely assuming it isn't fit for the #EFL92 right now? Or are they banking on those pen pushers at the FA being like the rest of 'em and not bothering to go all that way to assess Holker Street?

we already know what needs doing - not that much before the end of the season - and then more stuff if we go up that we'd have 1-3 years to do. New crush barriers are due to be installed in the next few weeks on the Holker Street end terracing that will give us a ground capacity increase. A new fanzone building is due to start in January at the crossbar end and after that the next project will be looking at putting a roof on the Holker Street end again;- similar in design to the old one that was there years ago.
