One special final word for the referee though - how on earth can you referee at this level when you don't know or implement the new rules - players being substituted have to leave the pitch by the nearest point you moron - let's hope the assessor does know the rules and gives you a mark accordingly and you're banished from this league forever.

Interesting you mention this, as this rule wasnt enforced for either injuries or substitutions in our game either. My assumption is either both referees forgot, or maybe the FA have not implemented the new laws this far down the pyramid

That’s a proper non-league start for a ex FL club isn’t it?

Two sent off against the bin men and a steady 1-0 loss.

Welcome to hell.
We smashed the league favourites 5-0 in our first game in hell. We're still paying for that.

Scrappy game between us and Dagenham yesterday. Neither teams created too much. And yes Quigley kneeing a chance wide from 6 yards was hilarious.

Set piece FC with our defence consisting of Diarra (6’5) Cook (6’5) Parry (6’4) and Gerring (6’3).
You'll smash us then. We can't defend set pieces at all.

Not the best game but we had our moments and deserved the three points in the end.

Yeovil were dangerous for the first 20 minutes or so but then fizzled out quite badly and we were rarely troubled. That said, Loach made a smart save from a free kick late on.

I’m sure we can play better and I’m sure we will face better teams but good start nonetheless.

That was not pretty. We have some work to do, desperate for some width and attacking options on the bench.

I was very OneDecentLester after that game, thought we'd romp it

'Mad' Brian Little had other ideas.

One of our players had to leave the pitch at the far side, so it must have been a case the ref forgot.

It does mean the subbed player has to walk round the pitch right in front of the opposition fans though. Could be interesting on Tuesday.

our next game was televised against York City at the KitKat... woeful

Barrow on Saturday wasnt by any means the best performance, the first half was absolutely dire.

Angus was probably the best winger that Jennings will have to face in this league and did cause him problems when he actually got hold of the ball as quite often our full backs (although mr dependable Carrington was a lesser extent) were caught marking 2 or 3 players at a time due to forwards not getting back.

Hooper will be integral to our season and sounds very much a confidence man. first half he was having hopeless balls punted up to him, second half people were playing him in to channels, albeit still hoof ball punts, and he was able to hold the ball up well and actually do something with it

special mention to Barrows keeper too, his record of goal kicks directly out of play / the stadium will be hard to beat this season!

At half time we were laughing at Hooper being hopeless after a few sliced efforts. Second half though, our shorter-than-most centre backs couldn't live with him.

Our keeper Dixon has improved as he used to be very gaffe-prone. His kicking has always been shit though.

If that was Carrington that was down on the edge of the box after a corner, then the ref (like all of us) will have seen him take a dive.

Also, the foul that led to your first goal wasn't a foul either, just a collision, and our defender got booked for it.

Funny how everyone sees it differently, but the ref was shit.
You've had an absolute mare Monkey, I've just watched the highlights back and your number 4 clatters into Carrington and should've been booked. That ref is a total arse for playing on with Carrington holding his head and you're just as bad if you agree with him.

Those wanting to see it for yourself, watch from about 4 minutes 40 seconds on our club's youtube highlights.

Bullshit - it's as clear as it was on the day. He blocks him in the chest. Yes, it's a foul, but the Wrexham player made a meal of it and there was no reason to stop the game at all.

In the same sentence, you've said that your player committed a foul then said the ref had no reason to stop the game. See the issue here?

Your number 4 is a thug. I hope some refs stand up to him as he'll end up causing a serious injury sooner or later.

it was a professional foul as it wasnt an accidental collision and he clearly moved in to him, but at the end of the day seen them given and seen them ignored.

The referee was absolutely dog turd though, no consistency. i loved the fact he totally ignored the new substitute rules, and your players were livid with him for it

I'm saying it's a foul (obstruction), but no reason to stop the game for a head injury as there wasn't one.

Taylor turns his back on him and blocks him (see pic). Yes it's deliberate, but that's not what we're debating, we're debating whether the ref should have stopped it for a head injury, and no, Carrington fell to the floor like he'd taken an elbow to the face. Ref saw it clearly enough.

I think with head injuries it's better to err on the side of caution.

Carrington isn't usually the type to simulate injury. If it had been Pearson....

You just love to see it. Except you can’t. Because it’s blurry.

A few good goals this weekend from Harrogate, Halifax and Torquay.

Those two Notts red cards, though. That's proper ill-discipline stuff.
