The women’s game looks set to start in September but only behind closed doors, £1m injection from the men’s premier league to assist.

I fear we could be a very long way off seeing football at our level, I can’t go for a pint at our clubhouse Saturday but can’t stand outside with plenty of room watching a football match. Madness.

Judging by the knee jerk reaction to the Leicester situation I can see a spike once pubs and restaurants open, only have to look at the one guy in South Korea nightclubs and the carnage that caused to see the consequences of this is not taken seriously.
We still have thousands of new cases a day, I just can't get my head around how the government thinks reopening bars, pubs, restaurants etc in the middle of a pandemic is a good idea. The virus is known to spread easily indoors & you just know there will be very little social distancing...the whole thing seems like a recipe for disaster.

Just look at America as a prime example at how badly this can go. They rushed opening the pubs/bars before having the virus under control and are now having to shut everything down again

Leicester is in a lot more trouble than the government were letting on

John Burn-Murdoch has been a really good informative follow on Twitter during this pandemic.

How will we tell the difference?

Haha, I went to one of the Man City games and there were about 1500 there.

Eerily different to the men’s game in many ways, it’s not for me in the slightest but I’m pleased it’s catching on

You're a disgusting sexist, in this day and age how dare you. I've a good mind to report you.

Megan Rapinoe is right, they should be paid exactly the same as elite male footballers.

All I’m saying is that the best looking women players, such as Alex Morgan, should be paid the most.

Who are these NL teams proposing to play in their friendlies? Aside from first team PL and Championship teams and L1 PO sides, no-one else is playing?

Surely it would make sense to play against NLN & NLS play off teams?

That's the thing, the government doesn't care to understand how provincial town's and cities are doing. Places like Leicester, Grimsby, Boro, Halifax are going to realise that very rapidly. The ineptitude in approach yet again reeking from Bozo Boris and his sixth form level cabinet.

But It's all ok, we are part of the populist "right side of history" nations that are immune from Covid. Johnson, Trump, Bolsonaro are all doing amazing jobs and this pandemic is a trifling matter. Much the same as two absolute bellends had posted on this forum a month or two back, the virus is only for those who get it to worry about don't you know.

Could you in essence play a friendly against yourself?

We did it last year when forest pulled out late on and did an 11 vs 11 side and just didn’t say anything.

Presuming the manager starts with his starting XI it’ll give them some edge

Update from our manager today, he expects all of our loanees to be available for the play offs plus our injured players are fit again, most crucially Rhys Murphy.

Update - D'ath and Alcock nearly but not quite fit yet.

Whoever comes up will only have 4/5 weeks to sign new players and get them up to speed if the EFL sticks to its plan of starting the season between August 29 and September 12!

The EFL haven’t done themselves many favours, but the decision on relegation from league 2 was decided weeks ago and the league has now been finalised.

That the conference are doing their usual of fannying around isn’t and shouldn’t be the concern of the EFL.

However, I’d imagine any league from L1 downwards are going to want a date as late as possible to ensure as much chance as possible of having fans in.

The NL can't do anything until the FA ratify the NL's decision to hold play offs - which the FA could have done nearly 2 weeks ago

Fair enough then, apologies for the ignorance.

And here he is the tin foiler, been investigating anymore DNS attacks?

To your first point I would refer you back to my loathing of northerners going all neo Tory and spouting "right side of history" like a gobshite, when it is increasingly clear to most, apart from the shrill daily mailers, the gross negligence of the Bozo and his cabinet has and will cause in the needless economic suffering and the shameful deaths of tens of thousands.

To your second point, anyone with half a brain is now seeing the reality of a neo Tory government hence the opinion polls reflecting this change, bozos ineptitude from which millions are 'walking away'.
Your clownish cheerleading of such ineptitude and with it the impact it has on many is my motivation to carry on mocking and treating you with the scorn your utter stupidity deserves.

A f#"king Tory shrill from Halifax, what a deserving title for a clown you are seen as.
Now run along and sniff some more DNS action out you woeful human being.

Without knowing the context of the argument, Halifax is one of those irrelevant places labour wouldn’t care about, on the basis of that the tories won’t have even heard of it, let alone care about it.

If folk in northern towns are genuinely stupid enough to think they’ll get a good deal under the tories they’re in for a fright.

(FYI I’m not a labour supporter)

Each other, I guess. Notts vs Boston and Harrogate vs York would make perfect sense.

Bad decisions x3.

This isn't the paint pot trophy, or a county cup. Penalties after 90 minutes is really tinpot.

Why allow only one extra space on the bench when you can make two more substitutions? 7 would bring them into line with the FA Cup, FA Trophy and EFL.

BT Sport have 10 channels, and the 6 "extra" channels have no regular content and are only used when needed. Could they not at least use these? I suspect the NL didn't push very hard on this.

That is a generous way to put it. This whole episode has seen a lack of government with the lack of support for the arts and culture sector another example of this.

Speaking of Boreham Wood. What's the keeper situation like for them? Last time I heard, Ashmore was suspended for the game against us and the league wouldn't let them sign Jalal from Chesterfield. Only other keeper they could possibly have is Grant Smith who they had on loan from Lincoln but he's now a free agent so he might not want to play in case of injury etc
