Genuine question for fans of teams in the London area, how difficult is it to get across the city for a night game? I.e Bromley to Woking, Woking to Dagenham etc. I get the impression that it would take as long as ourselves getting to Chorley or Fylde for example.

Traffic can be a nightmare during the week. Can take me over an hour easily just to travel the 8 miles to home games.

The M25 is the main issue as you hit it in rush hour for the Tuesday away matches.

Bromley is around an hour ish from Woking (would probably have to allow an hour and a half for a Tuesday game).

Dagenham is a hassle because you have to go halfway round the M25 and deal with the Dartford Crossing (or Heathrow if you go the other way). Took us 2 hours to drive there on a Saturday on the opening day.

Trains are even worse as you have to go in to central London then out again - can only just about make it back from Dagenham, Bromley etc the same evening.

Depends on the transport links and the M25 and or A406 if you drive.

The other week it took me just over an hour to get back from Wimbledon after we played them to Leyton using the local trains and the tube.

From Woking, it would take me probably just under an hour and a half using the same method, Aldershot took me over an hour and a half to get home after a Tuesday midweek.

From Leyton to Brentford can take up to an hour and 20mins on the tube.

From Leyton to QPR, its around 45mins on the tube.

From Leyton to Barnets Hive its about an hour on the tube.

I could watch Ebbsfleet at their ground and be home within 30mins if all went well with connections for example as well, only ten mins on the train out of London.

Reading to Leyton would take me by train and tube after a game just under 2 hours to get home, but only an hour by car if I was to drive and make a speedy getaway and the M25 wasn't up the spout somewhere.............

Depends where you are travelling to and from As following Dover , most London gams are seen as local to us, and they do tend to be midweek as well , but like Gatesheads and Barrow
we aim to arriver about 2 hours before KO to allow any hold ups but each club will have its own problem, OK the M25 has its problems , but then to does the M6, so you have to allow for them the main problem over the past couple of yeas has been the Dartford Tunnel ,as Maidstone are well aware of

Echo that,Bootham Crescent is great for a home fan neither mind away fans.
New ground looks better when you visit it,but any ground where you can see chimney pots is a sign of a proper ground.

From my own experience this season when we played Chelsea we were in Kensington for just after 5:30 and the traffic was so horrendous that we finally got dropped off at 7:20, and then also had a 15-20 minute mad dash to the ground. Thankfully we got there just in time to see Chelsea score after 2 fucking minutes.
