648 Barnet out of 661 at the Hive.

Lowest league attendance in more than 30 years. I'd expect no more than half of the 648 to pay £15 to watch us in the Trophy next week.

If we don't push for the playoffs this year then our budget next season will be very low.

I put it in the away support thread as a kind act of sympathy. You are technically away so 648 is a solid following, unlike the 71 that FC Haliphoenix took to Yeovil today.

294 , another terrific number for us , on the long journey to Harrogate. Especially after recent results and a thrashing at home.

Superb following. You all deserved something from that second half.

Incredible amount to bring all this way. Nearly as much as that tin pot phoenix Halifax.

That said we'll take 28 to yours, akin to Fyldes pitiful away following.

The Chester fans on here won't be having that. They always travel in numbers. Railway Blue will be on here to tell you that actually it was 500, but most of them went in the home end.

That's abysmal for a side up the top, I hate to give them any credit they'll take 3-400 easily down there.

Ripped from our home and then treated like mugs for years.
I didn't realise that your new ground actually isn't in Barnet. Am I right that Boreham Wood's ground is actually closer to Barnet than your ground?

Yeah. I've got to to stevenage away quicker than a home game before!

641,bloody hell that is bad.
Is the new ground that far away from Barnet,or is it just an utter twat to get to??

The initial move to The Hive took about 200 off our average attendance. The distance is about 8 miles I think, but travelling sideways around London is a nightmare by public transport. It's either take the tube into Central London and back out, or two buses. There was a shuttle bus but it was poorly used due to high prices. Ticket prices remain steep - they were fine in the first two seasons, then went up sharply after promotion and have only tacked down slightly since coming back down. The match day experience is piss poor - awful bar service, £6 for parking, terrace frequently closed to save on stewarding costs, broken scoreboard etc.

The biggest factor though is how awful we've been on the pitch for a full three years now.

It’s not overly far away but it is tricky/long to get to on public transport.

I’m of the opinion that the move to the Hive wasn’t anywhere near as much of a big deal as people are making it out to be (but that’s another topic) - but due to the club (read: chairmans) awful attempts at running the club then people aren’t making the effort.

As I keep saying - the club is slowly dying and has been for a while now. The chairman is past his time and his bad habits, reputation and personality have now harmed us beyond the point of no return. We’re finished, it’s just not a case of immediate urgency like Bury, Macclesfield etc.

See - of those you mentioned: the terrace (except when they shut it but keep the higher ticket price...), parking fees and scoreboard are just excuses you read on OnlyBarnet to excuse themselves of coming to the club. They’re proxies.

The issues are: poor football (which is hard to fix due to TK’s tight nature and bad reputation), failure to engage the local community (which I know the club have worked on - but is hard with TK being tight as it prevents the stereotypical ticket offers you see at Notts County etc), high ticket prices and then the general match day experience (high prices at the bar etc). All of these things combined are hurting us and there’s unfortunately one common factor - the chairman.

I’ve been a long time supporter of his but as I hear more and more coming from the club, he’s not learning. (In fact he hasn’t learned anything since Andrew Adie left).

Firstly- From where I live, travelling is a nightmare. When at Underhill it took 1 Bus and 15 minutes. Now it is 3 Buses and about 1hour 30. You try to get home from a midweek game and it almost takes until the next day. Secondly- Our Chairman is a great businessman and makes lots of money, but mainly at our fans expense. We have probably the dearest ticket prices, Bar prices Tea-hut prices and merchandise prices. Our Chairman owns part of Jako, but our replica kit and leisure wear is dearer than any other club using Jako. Thirdly- Through lots of lies and promises, our fans have lost faith. And finally- Having sold out to letting Spurs ladies use the ground alongside our 1st Team and our Ladies Team, crowd levels don't seem to be so important as the money is still rolling in. Turning over in the region of 8 million a year at the Hive, we then get the bullshit that because of the FFP rules we can't buy a striker that we have been crying out for ever since we sold Akinde. The club is poisoned at the moment and nobody seems to know how to change it.

Not bad, it's only 2 more than Haliphoenix took 80 miles down the road to Nottingham.
We've actually got wankers boasting they don't do away trips anymore coz we're shit. :ds:

Hard to put a figure on us at Darlo as it was unsegregated.

Full supporters bus and there was a dozen of us on the same train home plus those who made their own way. I was guessing more like 80/90 to be honest.

All spread out. :bg:

A lot of similarity between the Barnet situation and that at Alfreton in terms of fan apathy and chairman personality/reputation

I wouldn't worry chuck, it's only marginally less home fans than are currently attending Harrogate home games. :ds:
