Guidolin has done well, it's deserved. I'm also not sure a return of Rodgers would be sensible, going back rarely works in management.

Rodgers to Everton. ;)

I agree with Pagnell, an 11th place finish in the PL for a club like Swansea hardly warrants the sack so Swansea have made the right call here

It might have done from Pochettino's perspective. I wonder if he's getting a few extra thousand per week as a result of Spurs reacting to it?

And a lovely free meal to go with it.

Didnae work though, Pochettino signed a new deal today with Spurs. Guess him looking over the table at someone drinking a half dozen wine bottles made him think he's better off with Levy.

Good. The judge was right to disallow a fine to be paid instead, and was correct to say it was effectively no punishment at all for the piece of shit given what he's worth. Also good to see her disallow the curfew to be deferred so he could go on a jolly with the team abroad.

Fraser Forster has signed a new five year deal.

JWP has signed a new six year deal.

Good news about Forster, don't rate JWP though. Hopefully he can prove me wrong but I doubt it.

Poch bottled it towards the end of season, I'd imagine he was asking Ferguson for advice with future title challenges as Fergs wouldn't have cracked in the same way he did.

I wouldn't say he bottled anything, seems over the top to me.

Agreed. They had pretty much no chance anyway of winning the league and the players knew that.

Actually mate we were the inform team.
The only time they can be accused of bottling it is when we drew 2-2 with West Brom, they lost to West Ham when a win would have put them top and then draw with 10 man Arsenal when they had a lead. But they were never actually top of the league so they never bottled that. They may bottle 2nd place though!

A single unitary authority for urban Dorset
The tl:dr version is: we've shelved our capacity increase this summer and will likely keep at 11.5k for next season, but there are bigger more important plans afoot. And we've frozen all ticket prices (happy days)

To explain properly...A few months back Bournemouth announced plans and submitted planning application for a development at the South end of Dean Court to increase capacity to about 14k (from the current 11.5k). This was using a quick and cheap stand building technique that whilst considered as a permanent stand, isn't as extensive as a proper build and as such could be wacked up over this summer in time for August. A quick fix for our fairly desperate capacity issue.

The other benefit of a quick and cheap extension to the ground is that we don't own Dean Court. 13 years ago it was sold and leased back costing 380k per year. Whilst is peanuts compared with most of these arrangements, it was negotiated when the club was at a far lower level. The problem is - how much development work do you want to do to a ground you don't own? Bournemouth have been (very quietly) talking about buying the ground back for years, and our negotiating hand has been pretty weak since we've been able to spend money. The landlord knows we can pay. Also we've had to plow millions into the ground to get it up to stipulated PL standards. And it's hardly secret how large this new PL TV deal is. All making our negotiating hand weak.

After giving the impression for months if not a year that we would extend capacity this summer, today Bournemouth mysteriously announces that plans to extend this summer are "delayed" because negotiations with the landlord to purchase the ground back are "ongoing". Which is the first time the club has ever commented publicly on these talks. Such a change in plan suggests some progress.

Trying not to get too excited, but if a break-through in talks has been made after 5 years of trying, it'd be big news. Yeah we'll continue to look daft in our dinky stadium, but even 14k would have looked dinky still. Much more important: Owning Dean Court again would be a tangible and long lasting legacy of our PL adventure, however long that lasts. And the scope for development becomes far broader if it's ours to work on.

Ok so here's a question:

Does Chris Smalling hate David De Gea?

Martin Demichelis has been fined £23000 and "warned" by the FA for placing 29 bets on football matches between January 22nd and February 15th this year.

I wonder if his winnings totalled more than his fine.

If he's as shit at betting then he is at football then no, he's probably in debt by that amount.
