Less than four hours to kick off and no thread as yet.
Spurs will, of course, rest a few but should still have enough to beat us comfortably. They are after all a top three Premier League side.
Having said that, JET should actually give a fuck for this one and Dack is getting back to somewhere near full fitness so you never know.
If we can just avoid conceding early we may just have the tiniest of squeaks.
Anyway, just setting off from work now to have a pre-match milky tea and a biscuit.
Bring it on!

Ummmm.....................................oh well, only to be expected. I am actually glad I had almost no chance of getting a ticket. It would have been a long journey on the overnight sleeper back to Cornwall.

We were chasing shadows from the off. Their passing and close control was phenomenal, it was either the final ball or a dreadful finish (hello Janssen) that prevented the scoreline being way into double figures. On the rare occasion we actually had the ball, our players expected a lot more time on the ball than Spurs were prepared to give and they were either closed down or lost possession. Cody was so isolated it was painful, Wright mishit virtually every pass he played and with the best will in the world Osadebe is no winger.

The gallows humour in the away end and mild baiting of the home fans were the highlights of the evening.

Let's get this right, Spurs were phenomenal to watch. Their interplay, movement and crisp passing going forwards, combined with their ferocious desire to win the ball back as soon as they lost it was pretty special. Eric Lamela chasing Byrne and Wright at full pelt in the 85th minute with his side leading 5-0 a case in point.

BUT.

We were shit. Shitter than shit. The midfield was all over the place, with not one of them coming out with any credit. Centre backs did ok against a big lump, but you'd expect that. He was like James Hanson with a bit of technique. Cody barely got a touch but ran around like a blue arsed fly - but to be fair you'd expect nothing less. Knott and Wagstaff looked alright once they came on but the game was well over by that point.

There are a couple of ways you can approach a game like this. Firstly, you can go and be physical, in their faces and rough them up. We didn't get a single yellow card last night, and weirdly that frustrated me. Just put a boot in, take a tactical yellow when someone is running 40 yards straight through our defence. But no. No tackles, no fight. The other thing you can do is park the bus. That means a highly structured shape, players staying in position (Josh Wright, I'm looking at you), no chances taken, ball cleared as far away as possible, narrow play and every attempt taken to slow the game down. We couldn't do that either. Jackson can't play as anything but a right sided midfielder it seems, and JET wasn't going to give him a hand there so the right side was exposed time and time again. Our central midfield was a joke - Wright and Byrne chasing shadows. Dack was trying too hard to beat players when he should've just been doing what Erikson was doing - simple passes, moving off the ball, genuinely nothing out of the ordinary (except the first goal, that was a strike and a half) but effective.

All in all, I think it highlighted what we already knew. We have a very weak core, fold like a deckchair and overly reliant on a couple of players.

So poor.
