Is anyone else expecting a goal fest tonight? I'm thinking we'll see 4/5 goals tonight, something like a 3-2 Portugal win.

Or Iceland will park the bus, have only one attempt on target, and win 1-0!

Portugal are a one man show and it always hurts them. Iceland are a totally unknown quantity, could easily see them nicking a result here.

And yet England struggled to get past them even without that one man plus a few others.

Still a decent tournament side. Expect them to better Iceland.

Portgual should be beating Iceland really, they do have some quality in their team apart from Ronaldo that far surpasses anything Iceland have. However Iceland come into this with no pressure on them and we've just seen what that's done for Hungary, not counting Iceland out as Portgual are more than capable of dropping a bollock here.

2-0 Portgual

Hope some big Icelandic lump goes straight through the back of Ronaldo.

Really disappointed with how poor Iceland have been so far, in possession they've been dreadful.

There's the breakthrough, tidy finish by Nani. Iceland need to stop being so wasteful with the ball or I can see a few more for Portugal.

Iceland have look alright coming forward but hopeless defensively, letting Ronaldo and Nani have lots of space. Think Portugal will get another couple in the next half.

We can try and spin it which ever way we want, but truth is that Iceland are completely out of their depth against Portugal. Way too strong for them.

Yes!
Terrible defending by Portugal though, it was if they didn't realise Bjarnsson was behind them.

Portugal are a right bunch of whiny babies, don't like Iceland putting some challenges in and being physical with them.

Iceland's tactics are ridiculous, why are they constantly booting it away when they have open players around them? Stupid, just playing into Portugals hands.

Some composure needed from Iceland here, Portugal will be getting desperate and frustrated if Iceland could just retain a little more control.

Bit fortunate from Iceland, they put a shift in but I have no time for the all out defensive approach, so shit to watch regardless of the gulf in class between 2 teams. At least look to counter attack a bit FFS! Fair play to them though, they ground out a point and should grow in confidence given their next 2 opponents.

Called it earlier, said Iceland could nick a result and they did. Portugal have decent players, but it doesn't seem to translate as well as it should. They had a few chances, but looked a bit short of ideas at times. Should get out of the group, but can see them exiting in the knockout rounds to a half decent team.

Oorshka burshka kurshka!!! Get in Iceland, pity you couldn't have sealed the win against these fuckers. Great result though, hope they can somehow get through the group (along with my beloved Austria!!!).

Fantastic for Iceland what a result for them, probably one of the best in their history with it coming in a major tournament. Portugal were pretty poor and if any of the big teams is capable of ballsing up against the minnows it's definitely them, despite that you could still see a massive gulf between the two. Iceland looked pretty clueless in that second half when going forward, but maybe they weren't sure whether to stick or twist which you can't blame them for. If they can get 1 more win from either Hungary or Austria I think that will guarantee their qualification, even though Portugal have probably the easiest group it wouldn't surprise me to see them not win a game.

This group is set up nicely. Austia v Portugal should be a good game after they both got disappointing results today.

Immense achievement by Iceland. They've got some decent players too. Would be amazing if they can make it to the knockout stages.

Portugal were crap.

Ronaldo spouting sour grapes :

"They were just defend, defend, defend and playing on the counterattack. It was a lucky night for them. We should have three points but we are OK. I thought they’d won the Euros the way they celebrated at the end. It was unbelievable. When they don’t try to play and just defend, defend, defend, this in my opinion shows a small mentality and they are not going to do anything in the competition.”

Wah wah wah. Maybe if he'd have not missed that free header in the 2nd half(their best chance once it went to 1-1 as well), his team would have won the game. He's a weird person is Ronaldo. There are numerous moments when he does great stuff for charity or does something funny and endearing which make you think he's a good guy. But then there are those moments when he acts like a total douche and it makes you dislike him intensely. Hard to know what to make of him.
