Carlisle City v Carlisle Utd? Not sure the police be happy with that one, probably need to draft extra riot police in from around the country, could get proper nawty. Long standing bitter rivalry I hear. Much like the old firm, only in Carlisle not Glasgow.

We’re off to Spain for a bit. Imagine we’ll have a friendly against Espanyol B or some such shite.

Not far off at one point considering City play in the ground that was vacated by Celtic Nation when they went bust. If we'd played the latter in a friendly then they'd have done their usual of giving free transport to Celtic fans from Glasgow (where Celtic Nation went, Salford are merely following) and the usual crowd of Rangers leaning jocks from just over the border who normally go to our home games might turn up in even greater numbers.

Not to mention you'd have one team playing in Green and White hoops with the other wearing blue shirts, white shorts with red trim. Danny Dyer would have shit himself.

City have no connection to Celtic Nation though.

I'm guessing it was just a day of fitness checks. It's fairly common.

Yeah, it's not even training really. The club offer the players the opportunity to come in and do fitness work using the facilities at our training ground. All they were doing is some light cardio to keep things ticking over. It's beneficial because the club know the young lads are doing the necessary fitness work and won't come back in July out of shape.

We play Liverpool at Valley Parade on Sun 14th July. Liverpool allocated 4,500 - housed in the Midland Road stand. The match is all ticket.

The game has been set up to build funds for the Darby Rimmer MND charity. How the split will work, no one knows - but, I imagine it’ll be close to a sell out.

Ryan Lowe has said that he is talking to Steven Gerrard about the possibility of playing Rangers in a friendly.

We’ve had them down at Valley Parade a few years back for Stuart McCall’s testimonial; they brought about 10,000 down.

Decent fans.

Tickets selling well for our friendly with Liverpool, by all accounts.

Our match with Swansea has ticket prices of £1.

Not bad, not bad at all.

You got lucky in that case, didn't behave quite so well when they visited Manchester!

I was working in Manchester that day, it was pretty bad.
I have met a lot of Rangers fans and they profess to love everything that is British, and English, yet on that occasion they seemed set on laying waste one of our great cities...somewhat ironic.

I spent some time in Scotland and went to quite a few football games up there, including a number of Edinburgh derbies and a Cup Final, the only fans that I ever saw cause any real grief were from Rangers...the usual suspects Celtic were often so off their faces on Buckie and Jellies that they were incapable of causing distress to anyone.

When I lived in Edinburgh I had a season ticket at Hearts. The games against Hibs, Celtic and Rangers had crackling atmosphere, way better than anything i've ever experienced in league 2. I also was at Hampden when we beat Hibs 4-0 in the Scottish Cup semi final. Epic!

Snap on the season ticket, which meant that I managed to get a ticket for the 98 Cup Final. The game took place at Celtic Park, as Hampden was being rebuilt, and ended in a superb 2-1 win for the Jambos against the Huns. After the game was mad, I was a bit worried about getting out of the East End alive, as soon as I speak it is obvious that I'm from England. It had been "interesting" before the game...I saw a scuffle in a pub near the ground before the game, between several of the bar-staff...but was greeted by Celtic fans running down the street to shake our hands and congratulate us on Hearts winning the cup, though on reflection I think they may have been on the way to taunt the opposition fans!

Over 17,000 sold for the home end vs Liverpool.

Liverpool allocated 4,300 - theirs went on sale today.

Looking like it could be a sell out - circa 24,300ish

This weekend coming up will be the last one without football. Nantwich away a week on Saturday. It's amazing how quick it all comes back around again :ohm:

We've cancelled our friendly with Bristol Rovers after drawing them in the League Cup.

Hopefully we’ll manage to cancel our league games with Plymouth for the same reason.

We're having a 10-day training camp in Morocco, culminating in a game against Raja Club Athletic, of Casablanca, one of Africa's more well decorated clubs. Bit thin on the ground apart from that... Rochdale at home July 20th, followed by an unnamed club July 27th, believed to be Bolton if they;re able to fulfill the fixture.

Liverpool now sold their 4,300 allocation. Just the 1,000 or so left in the TL Dallas end for our lot! Total ticket sales now nearing 23,000!

It’ll be some afternoon for Stephen Darby.

Our friendly against Weston-Super-Mare, which should have been played by the team on the return journey from the Devon training camp, has been cancelled.
