The worst side is definitely Stevenage. At least Morecambe had some form of strategy against us that we ended up blowing away inside 20 minutes.

Stevenage can't score, they switch off at vital moments and they have a washed up manager who has allowed the game to pass him by with three sackings since he was last there. Stevenage think they can pull a trick like Barnet and Martin Allen, but Westley was truly blessed with a talented squad in his second spell there. He just can't build a team or motivate a side with no talent to get results and that's why, bar a Macc financial implosion, Stevenage will be relegated this year.

But Westley says they can get to the Championship.

Oh and I'm also waiting on Forest Green to find getting promoted to L1 to be a walk in the park..

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/39917358

To be fair to Mr Vince - and I'm no great fan - he may have a point.

After working out that you need defenders in L2 in their first season, FGR have made the play-offs and sit outside the automatics on GD this season. In their first 3 seasons in L2.

It took them 19 seasons to get out of the Vauxhall Conference.

That being said. Plymouth. Ha-ha. :)

Tbf Vince's comments were naive and straight after winning the play-off final with emotions still running high. Don't think he'd seen a league 2 game in his life. Think he's realised it ain't easy at all now.

Westley's been in football for years, and even managed in the Championship. Surely he must realise how far away they are from it on and off the pitch right now and how deluded it sounds when he hasn't even won a game yet?

Stevenage had their time and to be fair did get to the L1 play offs the odd occasion but that time is over now and rather than worrying about Championship football he would be better off concentrating on preserving League football for a start.

Comparing them and Morecambe over the three days last week we went to both I know who I back to stay up and it isn't Stevenage!

I saw Stevenage win their non-league Play-Off at the new Wembley, it was the first competitive match there. One of my mate's sons was the reserve goalkeeper for Kidderminster. Haven't liked the club since (Stevenage); Bra-Gate didn't help either, hope they go down.

Stevenage have never won the non-league play off at Wembley. When they got into the EFL they won the Conference (2009-10 season). The Kidderminster game was the FA Trophy final in 2007

We have scored 3 goals from open play in the last 12 league games. Tremendous stuff.

We are 10 points clear but we aren't completely out of it because half our team is injured. We lost both of our full backs to injury today and the one on loan is returning to Give try Our manager and Chairman are also an odds over signing players this transfer window. We could easily fall back into trouble.

That’s the boost Stevenage needed. i expect they’ll go on a bit of a run now.

The sooner the powers that be at Carlisle United recognise that this squad is heading for relegation the better. We need 2/3 experienced pros with the quality to rescue this sinking ship before end of the month otherwise we’re down.

And this might be music to some of your ears, but my club may be heading to non league, but I won’t be going to the non league forum I’ll tell you that now. Not a fucking chance. Hellogregory will be no more.

I know its blatantly obvious but we're really in the shit now. Tough run coming up. Kennedy has said signing will be coming in, no idea how!

Orients defence would be a worry but that Cambridge score is shocking! That’s over 1/5 of Stevenages goals for the season!

For anyone thinking ‘overreaction’

24th in form table, 24th home form in the entire league - this isn’t hellogregory stuff.

but you have the players. They are badly performing yes, but you at least have the hope they’ll play to even 50% of their capabilities sooner or later which will see you ok. Maynard or someone will go through a purple patch at some point which will win you games. It is and will end up being a shit season for you, but no way will you finish bottom. No chance.

We on the other hand, have a squad of shit players with no decent track records that pretty much all need replaced this month. We’ve brought 4 in so far but we need 3 or 4 more and they need to be good. Then the new players will have to hit the ground running just to stand a chance of turning things round.

You should have buried us before 30 minutes were gone. Does CJ Hamilton normally miss so many sitters?

I don’t think we will finish bottom, but we are definitely part of the conversation in this thread.
