Not really. Lost two of our three best players in the summer without replacing them; the other one has been injured all season. Plus losing Edinburgh and all the repercussions from that (including re-signing some of the deadwood for sentimental reasons). I’d’ve taken 22nd before Bury went pop.

In that case what's the problem? Embleton's going to get you higher then 22nd imo.

We've now officially been charged by the EFL for the postponement of the Plymouth game. Another 4 points off at least I'd say.

But you'll probably get the other 6 back.

Truthfully the only teams in this thread now are Morecambe, Stevenage, Carlisle, Macclesfield and Orient. I would be very surprised if the bottom team come May isn't one of those five.
agreed

I’d be stunned if it’s not one of those 5.

Stevenage and Morecambe have the advantage of having savvy proven managers at this level so that should give them both a slight advantage.

And if Macclesfield get their 6 points back they’ll be safe, so a lot will hinge on that.

Does the figure for Maynard include flights to/from Faro and a calculated portion for business use of the tax on the Radford's Algarve villa?

That’s the whole point of the Algarve, less tax - so no

I wish I could agree that we’re safe but I don’t think we’re out of the woods yet. We’ve just had our easy run of fixtures and ballsed it up so the next few weeks could have us right back in it. Hopefully Rowe alone should be enough but I’m sure Dangerous Dino will find a way to stop him scoring.

Compensation for when it happens. I have a few more similar with other bookies as well.

Obviously hoping I lose the money, but sadly I won’t.

I've done that twice - 09/10 and 10/11, it worked both times.

I considered doing it in 14/15 around February time but the odds just weren't worth it.

Stevanage look doomed. Our second string put 3 past them last night. Very one sided.

After last season's experience, Scunny can be left on this list. We were comfortably mid table in L1 at mid-season, but went into a shocking slide that led to relegation. It can easily happen, but with only one going down from L2 this season, it is going to be harder for a mid-table side to go down.

After a shocking start, we have clawed our way up into mid-table and I'm hoping we can stay there. We have a Chairman and Manager who are planning ahead for L2 and rely on youngsters coming through the Juniors and the U23's.

Here's hoping we don't slip away again.

What a people thinking for the points tally to be safe? 40 points?

That’s a point per game for Stevenage and Morecambe (both on under 0.8 per game). Might be a touch high but that’s what I want us to get to.

The way Macc are going they might even stay up with a 10 point deduction. That would be an amazing effort tbf, given everything that's gone on there.

Betfair have now closed the League 2 finish bottom/relegation market.

I guess they think it’s done. I wonder if they’ll pay out early.

Mindless negativity, you're 10 points clear with a load of dross beneath you - stop being silly please.

I couldn't agree more.
I swear you've played Morecambe, Stevenage and Macclesfield for the last 18 league games, you never seem to play anyone good!
Teams beneath you will have to pick up points, which is unlikely, but I agree that you are in the relegation fight.

It does help that there are only 1 or 2 teams in this league that I would consider to be ‘good’ - everyone else is just different levels of shite. But yes, we’ve played a few around the bottom recently and not got much to show for it. I don’t think we’ll go down but I also don’t think we’re not contenders.

It was only one game but if we play like we did yesterday against our next three (Carlisle, Oldham, Morecambe) I reckon we could be comfortably lower mid-table :ds:

I saw on Quest last night that Adams was targeting a Morecambe win over us to drag us into the relegation fight. I think we all had it in our minds too so feel relief to still have a nine point gap to them.

Typical that Mansfield suddenly start playing a week before they play us.

Our next 4 games...
Forest Green (A)
Mansfield (A)
Swindon (H)
Cheltenham (H)

Struggling to see where we’ll get a point from to be honest.

Forest Gree’s home form the only slight glimmer for us but would still expect them to turn us over quite comfortably. They’ll certainly be looking at this as the perfect game to get their season going again. I expect after that run of games we’ll be bottom or at best 1 or 2 points above bottom.

From what I've seen it's out of Stevenage and Morecambe. By far the most toothless sides we've played out of the strugglers.

Expect Macc to pull clear, even with another 4 point deduction, and Carlisle have got a real goal threat with the likes of McKirdy and Thomas.
