Has Richie Bennett played for you yet? Is he still up to this standard?
I think he may have played one game. It took me a while to remember who Richard Bennett was tbh.

Signed the week before the season ended so only played one game.

Port Vale fans general view seemed to be he was decent league two squad player and I’m guessing we’ll be hoping he does a similar job as he did with you guys in this division.

Gannon knows how to use him best as he helped kickstart his career at Northwich.

Yeah, him and Jordan William's both signed for us from Northwich. Two very good players at this level, though opinion was split a bit on Bennett. In the pre-season games before we sold him, he looked like he would dominate this division, but Carlisle fans said he was dreadful.

We wanted Williams in last summer but we were poor and PT then so he went to Fylde.

I don't think Maidenhead have ever put out a released list and I can't see that changing so we have to go off bits here and there. Looks like Danny Whitehall is set to find a club higher up. I can't see him succeeding any higher than L2 as he's very much a pure goal poacher who lacks pace and doesn't hold the ball up. Great free kick taker though.

That's a hell of a big squad - 24 never mind those who have been released/returned to parent clubs.
jave

Our owners either have some serious money or we're racking up some serious debt , again. Though to be fair theyv e always seemed very plausible and have made the club the most steady I've known it in decades.
Ardley also said that he's looked at around 150 players with an eye to next season over the last few weeks.

What has he been watching them do? Kick a ball around the garden?

Our owners run a football stats company he has access to a huge amount of information on players from all across Europe. He also comes across as being very thorough, he's made almost entirely good signings for us in the last twelve months.
We've signed literally hundreds of players over the last few years, it's been one of our main problems, over 50 signings two years running a couple of years back. Now we seem to have had a step change in recruitment and it's turned us right around.

It seems to me Notts County are going to make one serious /financial push via the play offs in getting back to the football league and who can blame them. Staying down another year is not an option financially as they know a lot of the fans will become bored with playing semi - pro teams who hardly bring any fans to their ground. They certainly don't want to end up like Wrexham where a lot of Football league supporters have never heard of them. Go for it Notts , you know it makes sense.

Any players there that you would have wanted to keep?

Inih Effiong will get another NL club given how many goals he scored - He was with us for 3 or 4 months about 3 seasons ago - was very raw then - much as Michael Rankin was early in his career - both were somewhat limited, but tried their hardest unlike some players...

Sure he will get another NL team - but his strike rate is appalling &so many penalty misses too
Kevin Lokko will get an NL team too

Yeah, he led the line really well against us and scored twice.

Someone on out forum has just said about Effiong
"It was no big secret that we'd agreed a fee with Stockport for him which obviously fell through because the season was suspended just before it went through "

I guess we know where he may be headed then - and he'll know Manchester as I think we were training at Rochdale when he was with us.

We’ve got another targetman type striker in Bennett who came in just before Corona hit and has scored at a a decent rate in this League as well so certainly an interesting move.

If we’re interested in Devante Rodney as well we must be going two up top as he won’t want to be put out wide like he was in his loan spell.

I stuck ours in the 20/21 Season Squads thread a while ago but I'll repost it here if anyone is interested.

We've released 3 players, Ryan DIckson, Josh Baxter and Jared Lewington.

4 players were already under contract (Covolan, Andrews, Little & Koszela).

All of our remaining players were offered new contracts and all have accepted except Jamie Reid and Kalvin Kalala who both said they want to try to find EFL clubs but apparently don't have anything signed and sealed as of yet. Maybe a risky strategy as who knows when clubs will be in a position to look at new signings? I assume new signings (as opposed to existing employees signing new contracts) aren't eligible for furlough payments?

This leaves us with 13 players under contract for next season (whenever that is). Johnson is looking to add 4 more permanent signings and maybe 3 loans.

Keepers - Macdonald and Covalan

Defenders - Wynter, Davis, Cameron and Slough

Midfielders- Whitfield, Hall, Nemane, Buse, Andrews and Little

Strikers - Koszela

We've since given a couple of youngsters their first pro contracts, left back Owen Price & attacking midfielder JJ Evans

Sounds like a description of Ricky Lambert.

If it were up to me, I'd have him back at Rochdale...
