Yup. Clearly only part time dentists have any inkling about football outside those who make a living from it.

He had 200 appearances and - presumably - a truck load of coaching qualifications but I guess that doesn't sound as snappy.

It was all a bit confusing though. I thought he'd stopped play for a head injury for a sec or a high foot!

Wonder if France will bring on Kante and try to get through with what they have. Maybe sacrifice Giroud and use Griezmann on the break.

You're right it doesn't. But the point is that not everybody in the game is an expert, even those in positions where they should be. You don't need to be qualified to question the decisions of professionals or be correct in your criticisms. Kinda like with MPs.

Oh I don't say people can't question things. I enjoy it tremendously.

I think both Giroud and Grizmann are better playing with another striker. Giroud needs someone to run onto his flicks and keep the line deep. Griezmann needs someone to create space for him to isolate defenders 1 v.1 and someone with whom he can play 1-2's. Maybe Kante for Sissoko? The German fullbacks were hardly bothered by the French wide players.

On comes Kante, France looking to hold out now but can't say the Germans look like scoring.

Defence and keeper at fault there. What where they doing?
Long way back now for the Germans. France will break on them all night.

2-0 Greizman again shambolic defending from Germany, looks like the hosts are going to the final baring a miraculous German comeback.

There's how you make Giroud look like he possesses pace - have him run alongside Schweinsteiger.

Shambolic defending from Kimmich. First the giveaway and then getting done by Pogba. Credit to France; Germany controlled the first half, but France have done exactly as needed in the second.

Neuer :fl::fl::fl::fl::fl::fl:

Best Keeper in the world.. LOL

DeGea wouldnt have done that.

De Gea's mistake against Croatia is the reason they had to play Italy in the first elimination game.

That was an excellent second half of football from France.

I expect them to make short work of Portugal in the final and I hope they do.

Shame, wanted Germany in the final, mainly because I reckon they're more likely to beat Portugal.

There we have it France in the final, the goal at the end of the second half changed the game massively and France were far better second half playing on the counter. Germany will be gutted was a great chance for another tournament win but they can't win them all. :shifty:

I think Portugal V France will be a better final to be honest, should be a closer game and despite Portugal being uninspiring there tactics have been effective, and with Ronaldo in their side they always have a chance.

All the talent Germany have and they're dicking around with Emre Can?

Germany look a lot like Spain to me, lots a possession, don't do enough with it. Surprised at how crap Muller was. Fullbacks not good enough (I like Kimmich but don't think he's up to much at RB). Bringing only one proper striker backfired, they look far better when they've got a focal point to play off upfront.

Well done France.

De Gea's mistake against Croatia is the reason they had to play Italy in the first elimination game.
De Gea needs to work on his near post but it's harsh to call that a mistake when it took a deflection of a defender.

That would be Emre Can who had a great game and looked comfortable out there. The lad is going to be world class in a few seasons.

You could say the same with France playing Sissoko but he was one of the best players on the pitch.
