Yes, but the point im making is why would they agree to a rule change when it doesnt benefit them.. Just like no one backed us up, because it didnt benefit anyone else.. same thing in my eyes.

For the record, us and tinpot did agree to a rule change but there we go.

Mike got the opening question so we were forced to go first, when under these rules it's blatantly obvious that going first is a disadvantage as we didn't have anything to go off, so had to choose a letter. Then they got it straight away, and the rules were then immediately changed so it was then our turn again, instead of them having a free go. The second one there wasn't anything wrong with because we both had the opportunity to guess (we picked a letter then it was just endless guessing) but straight after that the rule change was brought up.

We now cease play for tonight. The whole game has gone to shit, but even when L1&AL refused to play (and I'm still not convinced they're doing anything other than avoiding a forfeit cut off point), we were too far in to just call it off.

Going back to The Price is Right, which someone referred to earlier, that was in it's very early stages when that was suspended and restarted the next day.

When the game resumes, which it will on Sunday there will be a time limit between turns, and a final cut off point in which the game must be completed regardless of whether the whole board is revealed or not.

We're 4-0 up over the Tinpotters and although we have at times asked for letters, we've not done so as frequently as them. We got one without a letter being revealed(Just as The Lemons had the opportunity to do as they won the right to go first), and had ideas in mind for the others and guessed correctly. They haven't moaned, it's a level playing field as far as I'm concerned whether you go first or second.

While I'm at it, big shoutout to Team Tinpot for playing the game sportingly, and the way it was intended.

It's a level playing field. Yes, ok, so the rules were a bit cocked up, but no one team was at any advantage or disadvantage over any others. With our life being taken, that was just a bad decision that went against only us with nobody stepping in to say it was bullshit. So Mike was right a couple posts back, this is different.

But yeah. Have a moan by all means, but get over it. If I can get over the massive disadvantage of unfairly losing a life in that manner (not just a poor decision, poor sportsmanship from everybody else as well...) then this is fucking childs play for you guys.

What makes it even worse is that the answer the the Lemons had in mind for their guess wasn't even the answer that 5 guys won the point with, so why is it even an issue?? They were going wrong even if they'd have had first guess.

So a G was revealed under Sport, the answer was Game, right.

In our game the letter under sport was an A.......The right answer???

So going on that it could have been something as obscure as Gigg Lane or Gennady Golovkin. Unfortunately for them that is was game?? I dunno?? Or more unfortunate for us that ours was so difficult. Should we be moaning that our ladder is harder than theirs??

Other than we asked for the letter thinking you wouldn't get the next guess, and then the rules reverted and you got it. But doesn't matter tbh.

The rules weren't changed regarding asking for a letter and guessing.

The only thing Rammy changed was scrapping the free guess thing after getting an answer correct.

As I've said anyway, fair play to your team for playing in the proper spirit of things.

When a letter has been asked to be revealed by a team,the opposition team, still get the next guess, but the letter is not revealed until the next turn, when it's the team who asked for the letter to guess.

Or as Rammy put it...

"Right from this moment forward, if both teams agree then we can implement the 'LR rules', where if you ask for a letter it is not revealed until it comes back to your turn?"

Because this all happened in the PMs you guys didn't see what took place so I'll give my account:

We started, Mike got the question, we asked for a letter (as you would) and they get it right off the bat. Huh. There were rumblings of discontent. The Autumn light rain was here and we being British, just thought 'terrible weather' and grumbled. But we continued. The fact Game was the first answer on ours and Aviva Stadium was the first on yours shows a huge difference in difficulty, and has been said, it scared us into not choosing a letter, which brought the game to a standstill. Eventually we crumbled and picked a letter, and a few more guesses later they got it fair and square.

The score was 2-0, and those light rains became hail (light hail) but then Rammy announced if we agreed, we'd change the rules to the ones you've just mentioned you agreed on, which would have been altogether fairer, and would give an actual incentive to pick a letter. We were all for it. They rejected it. They. Rejected. Us.

The volcano erupted. I mean, the avalanche erupted. No, the avalanche erm... fell? What the hell do avalanches actually do? Anyway, that's when it all exploded (not the avalanche) and some of our members left, and the frustrations of the whole thing came pouring down, rather like winter rain, you know, the worst kind of rain. Essentially Rammy was right when he said he wasn't sure if our guesses (well mine anyway) were just to avoid forfeit because I was hoping once the sun comes out on the first day of March, we'd be over it and ready to fight another day. And I was a bit bored.

Basically, it would have been much better if we'd had a harder first word than an easier one, the fact they got it on their first guess ruined the game, as no-one wanted to pick a letter. That took all the fun out of it, then the rejection of the rule change (which you guys agreed on). Anyway, I've had my moan

I've missed this argument so I'll just act neutral and say everyone apart from me is a c***.

Having properly read through, the only thing I think is a bit shit is Five Guys rejecting the rule change. That's bush league - don't pull that shit and then call people 'bad sports' - the rule change was clearly in the best interest of the game.
