Well done to both, I’m sure we’ll smash Chelsea tomorrow and complete the set. ;)

Well done Crawley, get in there!!

Just got to hope this isn’t the trigger for them to sack Jones now.

And Nathan Ferguson one of Vales most pointless and useless signings scored the equaliser!

Agent Jones needs to calm it though or he will be sacked!

Great result for Colchester too.

Crawley winning is hardly a shock.
Stoke are garbage. Well done all the same.
I hope I see the day in my lifetime that we are the number 1 ranked team in Staffordshire. Stoke are doing their best to set that up.

Well done Colchester for a very unexpected win, and to Crawley who had inferior opposition, but helped to make it a great night for us coupled with our win. There is no way Nathan Jones can survive that result surely?

Brilliant results for both Crawley and Colchester, I hope we can emulate you tomorrow (although I don't want penalties).

That has to be one of the most one-sided games I have ever seen in my life, it was ridiculous. We couldn't get within five yards of them for most of it and the only time we had the ball in the first half was if they gave us a goal kick. Mourinho would have been proud of our park the bus mentality.

They created next to nothing in reality, though. The closest was a cross that came back off the post, but a free-kick is probably the only other real save Gerken had to make. Dele Alli and Lucas Moura were phenomenal, they completely ran the game.

The game started to open up a little more towards the end and we could have created something, but by that point we were so exhausted that we had no legs left when we reached the final third.

Unbelievable result though.

Well done Colchester, superb result and I told a Spurs-supporting colleague yesterday that it was an iffy draw for them. The fact you won and Jevani Brown did THAT penalty was perfect!

How didn't that happen?

4135 at the ground last night. 1200 short of full. Really pissed off I couldn't get a ticket now.

Just watched the highlights. The sending off was harsh, we had a penalty shout with Palmer through on goal. Probably went down too easily but I've definitely seen them given for that and some bastard let off a flare which means all the profit from the game will go to the FA by way off the fine.

Well done Colchester. Superb result. Come on Grimsby. Make it happen.

We've had a couple since but always got shit draws, the League Cup dumping our both Sheffield clubs as a League Two side then facing bloody Scunthorpe who were in the Championship at the time summed it up! Or the FA Cup run getting Plymouth in R3, then Brighton in R4.

Horrific.

Last real decent one was Spurs away. What a night that was.

In fairness Scunthorpe was only round 3 ( last 32 ).
Basically we sit in frustration as the likes of Newport, Burton etc pluck out gems and beat them too. Whilst we lose in Round one with regular occurence.

To be fair we don't usually do cup competitions at all either. Before this season, we'd only made it past round one in the League Cup twice in the last 14 seasons, losing in the second round both times, and we've lost in the first round of the FA Cup five times in the last seven years too.

Our coach is like a fucking library, hopefully on the way home after we’ve dumped Chelsea out it should liven up a bit.

Everyone too busy on their tablets getting work done/on Facebook/on Netflix probably. No one sings on coaches anymore these days.

i'd prefer to walk than go on a Vale coach away from home. Like some of them are on day release.

We’re still stuck in traffic on the coach and we set off at 12:35.

Well feared the worst after 6 mins, men vs boys, Chelsea walked through our defence like we wasn't even there.

Great strike from Green to pull one back and then we more than held our own, sure Chelsea had most of the poccession but we had the odd break and it was heading for 2-1 at the break and then who knows in the second half.

However Green then goes from hero to zero by stupidly pulling their player down in the box for no reason right in front of the ref just before half time. Easy 3-1.

Any idea what the pen was for anyone as I haven’t a clue?
Chelsea’s passing is so slick but after the start we had we’re giving it a right fucking go but they are just colossally better than us (as expected of course)
Absolute scenes though when Green scores, worth all the travel shit just to celebrate a goal as mental as that.
5-2 Chelsea my guess because we’re gonna score again second half but no way they won’t either.

Edit: Frealaf just answered my question.

Looks like we're trying to man mark again but they're just running past their markers with the pace they have and it's worked wonders for them. 2-1 would have been a great scoreline to go in with but fear that penalty has put the nail in the coffin. We are a very 2nd half heavy team this season though so anything could happen from here.
