Back to mo, I'd go all the seamers though, root is as good as leach ffs.

Do you reckon? I don't see Leach running through a line up but he's got more control than Mo. I don't think there'll be a lot of spin in NZ and SA so I think Leach would get the nod.

Ben Stokes is very angry with the Sun and quite rightly too over their reporting of a tragic event decades ago .

Shameful and callous act trying to trick his parents into having to relive such an horrible ordeal .

Agree with that. I'd be sticking with Leach at the moment.

Personally think we need to move Bairstow on from the test team and have Foakes as our wicket keeper.

If Kent can finish the job against Yorkshire today, then beat Hampshire in the final game then we finish 3rd. That'd be a fantastic first year back in the top league!

Weather looks shite next week which will be a real shame.

Another great finals day. Two games went to the last ball and a massive crowd. The IPL may be the benchmark but finals day is definitely one of the best days in the calendar in terms of cricket and even sport in this country.

One question, can Simon Harmer qualify for England after a certain number of years like Archer? If so, get him in! Best spinner in the country by a mile who can also bat/field.

Pleased for Zak, he's a real prospect. Obviously a few years behind Sibley in experience so he's second fiddle, but will be great for him to get the experience of a tour. With Denly and Billings also getting national recognition again I think it's fair to say Kent aren't being seen as a joke by the selectors any more.

Having said all that, seeing as this tour doesn't REALLY count - it would've been fun to see 43 year old Darren Stevens twatting it about in the T20. How he's been overlooked by selectors for 20 odd years is pretty scandalous.

Shame a wet outfield has decided the title although guess Essex probably only needed one good innings to seal it.

Draw decided in the Kent game, meaning we finish either 4th or 5th depending on the Yorkshire result. Either represents a good first season back, and having Stevens sign on for another year is great news. A few canny acquisitions and we should go a little bit better next season - need a front line spinner and a batsman, as well as a paceman to replace Claydon. If we can keep the core of Crawley, Denly, Billings, Stevens, Milne, Podmore and Robinson together and playing regularly next season then I'm optimistic!

In theory, it's possible. I think his qualification period only started this year or last year though. It would be controversial though, cos he's played 5 tests for South Africa and it would be the first player to come over as a Kolpak to go on to play for England. I don't think they should look to pick him - Matty Parkinson is the future, they should get behind him.

To be fair, he was well in to his 30s before he really started posting ridiculous numbers like this.

I’m almost certain the ECB changed the rules on qualification periods recently to get Archer in before the World Cup, which means that Harmer may not have as long as he normally would have to qualify. I’d be willing to bet that the ECB could fast track him in before we tour India in 2021.

It’s a very difficult one and will cause controversy whichever way it plays out. Personally, I want England to have the best test team possible and if Harmer wants to play for England and is willing to give up aspects of his life to do so then I can support it. I understand why others would feel differently though.

If England are to win in India or Australia, we need a world class spinner and Harmer is the only man that fits the bill at present.

Isn’t there?

I’ve paid no real attention to it as it’s the biggest load of bollocks I’ve ever heard but saw somewhere that the Oval team were meant to represent Surrey and Kent. As if a Kent fan would ever support a team from the Oval full of Surrey players. Just shows what a load of old rubbish it is.

Made even more stupid by the fact Kent players could turn out for anyone else in the tournament - how are we supposed to have any loyalty to any of the franchises when our 'local' side don't represent our region in any way?

I'm watching it. I have a lot of problems with the Hundred as a format but the standard of cricket is going to be immense.

Everyone will enjoy it when it starts, it's just a bit strange not supporting a team, I suppose I should be wanting the northern superchargers to win but I must admit I couldn't care less at this minute in time, the standard should be exceptional to be fair.
