This thread "could" have dropped of the first page but I fancied a moan.

I wonder how long Ardley will be afforded. I can't see an early sacking but I would imagine Reedtz will want to see progress and despite us now unbeaten in 3 only one of those games we actually played well in and didn't win either.

I think personally I'd have a look at it at the end of November.

There were a few moaning near me today towards the end. Lose on Monday and a fair chunk will be baying for blood. As always.
still think we need a target man as we aren't holding the ball up long enough to build pressure. Even so Slocombe flapping at the corner before half time was a terrible way and time to concede.

Honestly I don’t blame Ardley for dropping points yesterday. One was an on the field error from the keeper and the other just one of those freak own goals.

We at least tried to play to our strengths yesterday. I do feel that the Tootle situation is odd... hopefully he’s ok but he should be playing

Kelly Evans and Rose ahead of Tootle I think. He ought to go if he can get a club, probably the January window and hoping for a league club.
We need to win tomorrow or Ardley is going to come under real pressure. Hopefully the owners are more patient and can see that progress has been made. We've got a sacking mentalitt as a fan base, 30 in 20 years and it's now become a blood sport.

I wonder if it was Toots who allegidly refused a loan move.

A collection there of the consensus ‘bad managers’ we’ve had at Notts (and Moniz to illustrate he was actually alright given the whol Guy Branston stuff he had to work with)...and Neal Ardleys record before we play Chorley today. All managers who inherited players they didn’t want (none of them inherited 3 attacking players that cost 6 figures the summer before) or had to work under odd ownership. None of them as bad as Ardley or potentially as well paid either.

Please. It’s time.

Good work inspiring our second half goal of the season competition.

Surprised Ince is as high as that

To be in some way fair to Ardley. I don’t think he’s come in to an easy position as a manager and I don’t think many managers would have done a better job. You could even use your list as evidence of as much.

Appointing the right manager is hard, especially when the fans are as trigger happy as Notts fans. Too many of them think we should be winning every game like today just because it’s national league

I’d argue most there were working under much worse conditions, especially from a financial and talent of the inherited players perspective.

Still, at least Ardley managed to somehow get goals at home to Chorley from Enzio Boldewijn (the best player in the league), Wes Thomas, Nathan Tyson and Kristian Dennis.

Notts fans are no more “trigger happy” than any other fans. Chairmen maybe, but not fans.

I thought we were very patient in the first half today, given the level of the performance and the quality of the opposition.

So calling for Kev Nolan after one game last season wasn’t trigger happy? A manager that had a 42% win ratio

Calling for Ardley after Eastleigh wasn’t trigger happy either then. Basically it’s all the chairman’s fault these get sacked. Nothing to do with fans adding pressure

As for worse circumstances. Don’t think any of those managers took over after two managers had been sacked in a season, no money and bottom of the league, but feel free to correct me. Fullerton and Allen are probably your best bets

As for Ardley. He has a good basis for success but let’s face it, either he will tits it up or he will be prematurely sacked. It’s what we do

I can’t remember anyone calling for Nolan to be sacked after 1 game. I can’t even remember anyone calling for him to be sacked after the game he was sacked after. There was a general apathy and resignation such was the piss poor level of performance. If some random bloke near you was shouting it, fair play, but that doesn’t count as ‘Notts fans ‘. Did the fans get Kewell sacked as well?

Patience with Ardley was wearing a bit thin yesterday, but fuckin ell we were abysmal for half an hour. I would guess that would have been the case at most clubs.

Think it’s obvious what happened to Kewell. Harry Kewell.

Notts fans called for Nolan after each game on social media and if you were at the Lincoln game, many even shouted it at his face when he came over at the end. Think he was gone next game?

I’m not saying the fans have been responsible for ever single sacking, but they need to give managers more time. Sometimes it’s not just managers, the supporters hounded out a decent keeper in Adam Colin, for some unknown reason

We are in a pretty good position in the league despite not being convincing.

It will go two ways from here, either we carry on and just about get through or it all ends in tears. This year we have a good side, you can see the spells of good football but it’s down to the players to execute the game plan and not just kick the ball to the opposition constantly.

I'm posting on this thread to spare the world the navel gazing of our internal woes.

How many players are we going to sign? How big is the budget? How long 'til the Reedtze brothers realise they're haemorrhaging cash just like our last pair of owners and that when we're a £500,000 parachute payment short and still in this division that they've blown their reserve. Plus probably paying off the current manager when the fans fully turn and they feel the pressure.

Ardley needs sacking before he does long term damage. Not arsed about a midtable finish but he is so clearly amateurish that another year could leave us with a squad of Branston proportions

I was gobsmacked in the interview after Solihull that we wanted a couple more players.
What is NA doing, just keep signing players until we get something right!

I am afraid he is very quickly falling into the "lovely bloke, but not enough knowledge to manage" category.

I imagine we are now already over budget, the Danish must now be losing money like our last two owners were....

the buck has to stop.

We've no idea what the budget is really, or how wealthy the Danes are. Plus we lost a lot of high earners in the summer, and Hemmings and Kellett in the last couple of weeks. I'd imagine Tootle will be having his contract terminated shortly 'by mutual consent' as well, which would make more sense re the Brindley signing, who, I think I'd prefer over DKE based on the reviews from his previous clubs and seeing a bit of him in action. I actually like the sound of Shields as well, we lack a winger who will take on and beat a full back and deliver a decent cross that a finisher like Dennis should thrive upon. So we'll see.

I'm far from convinced by Ardley, but he's pretty much been able to bring in his own squad now and for all the chaos over the summer we should, with the players we have available, be challenging. Over to you now, NA.

You need a non-league manager, like how we had Cox if you want to get out of this league.

Big bastards all round with fast wingers and a Matt Green uptop. Easy :D

What's he up to now?

I noticed that his missus(?) got caught in some dodgy transfer dealings down in Dover, was it? Eastleigh?

To be honest if we could just turn some of these draws into wins we'd be in a good position.

Worrying fact is that we haven't learned from last year and some of the problems like defending headers, defending set pieces still remain. I'm not sure what it is but it plagued Nolan, Kewell and now Ardley. Its baffling.

Not 100% but I think he has torn something, that's Notts' luck for you.

Ruptured Achilles and will miss the rest of the season so he has returned to Sheffield United.

Threw his toys out of the pram after we didn't let him go to Hartlepool, resigned a few weeks later and joined Guiseley, failing miserably.

He's always had something to do with agents and apparently he was getting a sum if he managed to move players on to a higher level.

He brought us some good success but seemed to manage slumps in form by throwing players at it, didn't Guiseley have about 40 players signed up at one stage?

Big blow for Sam Graham. Eighteen years old and your career in the balance is a tough break, hopefully he'll fully recover and have a good career.
He was definitely improving with game time for us after a couple of lapses.

Hadn't seen that. Doesn't surprise me as he was getting stick from Ilkeston supporters as time went on.

He probably needs time to write his book anyway!.
