I agree with this and Accrington have a game in hand too. If only we’d managed to take something from our recent home game with Stanley the picture might be less bleak. Though we’d have been stuck with Adkins so swings and roundabouts…
I can’t see Rovers taking much from the next couple of...
The question is he be good enough to keep us up? There were certainly signs on Saturday of a team playing closer to our potential than we came close to in the last months of Adkins reign and he brought Josh Hawkes in from the cold. I get that he’s riveted to playing with wing-backs but hopefully...
I'll have something of what he's on! You could certainly make an argument we should have got something at Notts and one or two of the drawn home games on another day could have gone in our favour, but that's about as good as it gets.
Think we've lost 10 away games on the trot and sooner or...
While Milton Keynes' current form is unarguably poor, no real danger of relegation and would have to go some to make the play-offs. Is a new manager going to make any significant difference to the rest of the season?
I thought Vale started very slowly and it took the shock of our early goal to jolt you into action. After that it was a decent game, end to end and both sides having some decent chances, although the refereeing from David Rock was a bit random. You seemed to pick up a few injuries during the...
Looked like Vale woke up after they scored after Rovers had the better of the opening twenty. Patrick’s defensive frailties showed in the build up to the equaliser and disappointed Crosby persists with him at wing-back.
Crosby has a made a couple of big changes dropping Jennings and Davies. Unsure if it is brave or stupid but if he’s gone with a back three of O’Connor Turnbull and Wood then expect a massacre two midgets in central defence one of whom is a weak header of the ball.
Fan favourite Josh Hawkes gets...
A bit concerned with that tbh. We have been doing as a 352. Cam Norman is fine at right wing-back. Zak Bradshaw at left wing-back didn’t work and Omari Patrick has been deployed there recently; his mistake contributed to the Accrington goal last night.
Crosby was recruited by Adkins to help with our defence, but that didn’t seem to help. It will be interesting to see if he sticks with a similar tactical approach to Adkins, in particular the use of wing-backs when we don’t have the players to fit that role adequately. After the Accrington...
I remember the TRFC v FGRFC match thread here that went on for well into double figures pages.
Forest Green and Maidstone fans were some of the best I've met in the Trust tent over the years
Adkins should have gone months ago. It is clear he’d lost the dressing room and whoever takes over in the short-term should get more respect from the players. However the current squad is spineless, there are real issues with scoring and the replacement is likely to be of the cheap skate...
