He let three goals in, but so did their keeper, the second of which was a really skilful lob.

A 3-3 draw for us, after being 2-0 down really early on, managed to recover to lead 3-2...then, typical Rovers, conceded an equaliser late on. Either way, given that we have our first four games away from home...as our pitch isn't quite ready...I'm happy to have a point on the board.

Some pretty respectable followings there, considering how far most of the away fans had to travel...OK, so it was the first day of a new season and still the summer holidays, but decent nonetheless.

Been there before, Hummel didn't deliver our kits in time for the first game of the season...in fact they never delivered and the club ordered replacements from Player Layer...we ended up getting a kit from a local sports shop and having them couriered up to Grimsby in time for kick-off.

First pre-season friendly for us this evening, against Slimbridge, one of four games arranged away to teams fairly local to us. Not sure what to expect, they can be pretty one sided affairs, we will probably field completely different line-ups in each half. Main priority is to get the players...

Rumours that we might be trying to sign Ollie Pearce from Worthing, who apparently scored goals for fun last season in their run to the play-off final.

Within minutes of my post above it was confirmed by our club that we have signed Liam Sercombe and Sean Long, both of whom had been released by Cheltenham.
