Pretty much. Looked more like a sprinter than a footballer for much of his spell. Put in some decent cameos off the bench in the past month with his best coming up front against Notts. He’d have made his first league start of the season tomorrow though so timing of the recall is pretty awful.

He’s an attacking midfielder with two goal contributions in half a season. Just like with us he never seems to last a full game or go too many appearances without being dropped to the bench. Please can you explain what he’s doing so well because it isn’t assisting or scoring goals?

No he wasn’t. He literally replaced Lewis at the centre of the three as soon as he came in. Lewis didn’t then make a start until late April.

He was so solid that DC brought in Byrne from Tranmere after a couple of games and replaced him immediately in the team and then he didn’t play for five months. If we do move to a back four I don’t mind him coming back mind as we still have three other options in case he struggles like last season.

We don’t get rumours from ITKs anymore so not worried with 10 days to go until our next game. I think it’s obvious there will be additions sooner rather than later.

Yeah Pye is only 20 he’s going to play much higher if he keeps progressing at the rate he has this season.
