Quality player at this level. No pace, but good delivery and Jackett turned him into a hard worker which made him twice the player he had been.

You won't get him now, too late in the window to replace him. He's decent, but not outstanding so I wouldn't be aghast if we got decent money for him, but we simply don't have anyone in the squad to replace him.

Never really rated Simpson since his time with us. Just seemed a player without any particular 'stand-out' feature to me. Not quick, not strong, not skillful and not a particularly good finisher. How he scored so many last season I have no idea!
