League One Play-Off Final: Barnsley vs Millwall

I think the big pitch will suit their wingers too who are very dangerous (Hamill and Isgrove), especially with us missing our right back for the playoffs. Our biggest strength is the two strikers, so all about whether we manage to get them any service.

League One Play-Off Final: Barnsley vs Millwall

Needs to have a team play to his strengths. He can't beat a player on the ground so almost everything he does needs to be done first touch so he needs to receive the ball high up the pitch and largely down the middle. He thrives off of direct play.

I'm not moaning about your use of the loan system, we have used it too this season (Chris Taylor, Shane Ferguson and Jed Wallace). If a system is there for everyone then its only fair that everybody looks to exploit it as far as possible. I just happen to thoroughly dislike the state of affairs...

5 of the players who played last night were on loan, albeit not all from the Premier League. I tend to agree with the saddler's fan that when almost half your side is on loan its probably gone a bit far but its not up to Barnsley to set the rules.

To be fair, Barnsley played exceptionally well in both games. Those loan players they have on the wings (Isgrove and the Utd kid) both look very dangerous and they have a goal scorer in good form. Walsall didn't 'not turn up', they were just beaten by a far better side IMO.

    Stickied League 1 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

From what (admittedly little) I have seen of Rico Henry, I'm not sure that anyone higher up would want to take a punt yet. Clearly he's a prospect, but he seems to be a much better player going forwards than defensively and that will only become more of an issue as he moves up the leagues...

    Posh appoint McCann

Parallels to ourselves with Harris perhaps. Having the crowd behind you goes a long way

    Your summer transfer window

Fairly sure he will pal, won't get another deal here and unless Gillingham rekindle their interest I don't see anyone else in front of you in the queue.

We actually have only won 1 of the 6 games against the player playoff contenders in the league. Lost 1, won 1 vs Walsall Drew 1, lost 1 vs Bradford Lost 2 vs Barnsley Surprised so many on here are tipping us to win it.

Play Off Semi Final: Barnsley vs Walsall

Either way I reckon this game will be a far better spectacle than our semi, which is likely to see two big 'orrible teams kicking lumps out of each other. Walsall do seem to have a bit of a soft belly though as quite a few teams have really tickled their tummies this season. Walsall the better...

Rob Page appointed as Northampton boss

Ardley seems to have done a very good job in Dons whilst keeping under the radar. No idea what his football is like, but he'd seem to me to be the most 'up and coming' of that lot.

Just read the Kyel Reid has been released by Preston and therefore presumably isn't available to Bradford for the play-offs? I'm assuming that its the same player.

Welcome to Bristol Rovers and Oxford United

Honestly I could see any of those promoted ending up in the playoffs next year. Nothing between league 1 and 2 in the most part and Oxford were one of the best sides we played this year.

    Players Out of Contract (2016)

Best midfielder I saw play against us last season, I thought he was superb in the JPT game at the Den. Keeping him and Roofe could see Oxford have a very good season.

    Russell Slade Confirmed Charlton Manager

It'll be interesting to see how this works out. Looking at the relegated teams from last season (ourselves, wigan and blackpool) I'd say that any relegated team that manages to sort itself out early in the season is likely to go on and finish high up in the table. We found that once we sorted...

Premature pre-pre-season predictions (on a regional basis)

Kudos for spotting Gillingham, not many predicted them to have a good season even if it did collapse a bit in the last month.

    Stickied League 1 Transfer Rumours/Confirmed Transfers 2024/25

Be interesting to see where he goes and what he goes for. Anything above 2 million is a decent whack at this level I reckon. Looks like we might lose Jordan Archer to Everton in the summer based on strong rumours on our forums. He's certainly a keeper with great potential but I can't help but...

    Welcome Charlton

I like Charlton. They aren't so keen on us but never had a problem with them at all. Also, their fans on here are a pretty decent lot on the most part.

Probably a must win for us tonight at home to Fleetwood. Our place is far from secured thanks to a few poor results recently.
