I think this div is a lot stronger than when we went thru' it under Lee Sinnott. Most current occupants weren't members then, or even when we fell back into the div. There's more pro sides in it, and/or recent league teams - boston, Kiddy, York etc. Don't see the blue army going down unless...

I fancied the celtic to be 11-16th by the end of the season. Steady - but no mugs. Hard start, but I suspect we will be the top promoted side AND W Yorks top side. Bottom end- those suggested and Curzon & leamington. At the top, it's hard to say as Ive only seen 1-2 in the cups, in the recent years.

In answer to the other question- S Shields'll be favourites in the NPL. I reckon they'll be top 2-3 I'm sure. Might not have it as easy as they probly think they will. They only finished 2nd due to the North Ferriby thing. It looked like us n Warrington were dropping them from the title race in...

OR just absorb the Isthmian into the southern league. HOWEVER that then causes what we have now - 2 divs feeding into the confs structure, so the travelling will not be significantly different in the div below ours, and the theory was that the journeys should increase the higher up the pyramid...

NPL -This would cover: Scottish border to Merseyside/the top of the Wash S League -running a midland setup from there, down to gloucester or so, and with E Anglia in with them Isthmian/v south league - from there down. Promoting (for example) South shields & Scarborough Rushden & Stourbridge...

Beebot - I'd say the main problem IS the isthmian league. Basically 2 southern divs feeding into the confs 2nd divs. Creating this midland divs doesn't really help much, if southern end midland sides win it, it restricts the NPL and northern clubs even more. My solution. Have the Isthmian take...

Cheers Sith. I note that since I last saw games at this level, with FCFC, the 'balance' in the two confs 2nd divs hasnt really improved. Gloucester, the attempt at having Oxford c in this div.... really?? North?

Another issue will be the clarification of which league a table or set of results is for. With all 3/ 4 regional divs being BetVictor it will be far less clear which div is which. Dr Martens, Unibond, Beazer homes, etc were clear & separate leagues. 'Champions of the unibond' is a song...
