Poor from us all round and Bradford got just the right players to bully our flappers. Stood around to watch the corner get headed back across then stonewall pen having given the ball away just before and left JMT to flap. Barely registered a shot and the crowd looks barely a thousand. Happy days.
At the time I thought maybe ref thinks it was ball to hand as it's clearly stuck out there, but he's a couple of yards away and it looks worse on the replay. Some suggestion one of our other lads was in the ref's line of sight because it is stonewall.
he came over as quite the po-faced PE...
Second half scrappy, Walsall the better of the two sides but neither really pushing for the win. Did need another good Belshaw save, their keeper had a few easier things to stop. Bit of handbags over nothing around full time was about the most lively it got.
Started bright but didn't make much of the chances, Omotoye a bit off it and Deeney letting him know which can't help. And he missed a good headed chance himself. Then Walsall grew into it and came close a couple of times, one took a great save from Belshaw. Also had a strong pen shout waved...
Starting today, was suspended last time for cards accumulated. been excellent pretty much, real notch above in terms of quality, only held back by playing for us.
So again we're above our opponents in the form table, which seems odd as we remain pretty shit. Would be nice if our league position edged a bit closer to twelfth but suspect it'll depended on whether Walsall have a mare as we'll just do the same old.
Scoreline not an unreasonable reflection of two poor to middling teams but no excuse for chucking away such a good position. Grimsby did look the more likely to snatch a winner at the end though we did have the one golden chance we fluffed.
Understand Grimsby have been better second half often this season and with the wind a big factor not counting any chickens here, as no-one who's watched us defend would ever do.
