We have David Wheater training with us following an operation. Think he last played for Oldham. Hopefully he could still do a job at NLN if fit, as we are desperately short of CB's with Jake Lawlor returning to Hartlepool and Jake Cooper to Rotherham. Doesn't look like either will be returned to us.
We are trying to tie up Danny Rose from Grimsby on loan to end of season, or permanent. Been decent since he arrived. With Jake Lawlor and Jake Cooper returning to the Hangers and Rotherham respectively, we are on the lookout for replacement CB's - anyone got a Jake that would fit the bill? We...
Can't see why refs would have taken against him. He's not someone who is in their ear all the time, moaning about every decision, nor is he constantly fouling defenders. The first sending off, could see why it was given, and equally why he could have got a yellow. The second, he was the victim...
As i've said before Charman has it within him to be a gem of a signing. Strong, quick, really skilful, and good in the air. If I was Hartlepool, i'd have tried for him before Carver any day of the week. As for the sending's off, i'd ignore the latest one against Spennymoor which was possibly the...
Wasn't aware of his reputation. Still, if Wilder can get him concentrated (and nightlife in Boro is shite so that might help) he could be just what they need.
I'd rate Charman above both Scott and Langstaff. They've excelled in a very good Gateshead team, whose system suits them down to the ground. Charman has had to do most of the work for himself, as well as put in a shift defensively. Really think he could be a gem for someone willing to take the punt.
Was very good for us in his spell here 2 years ago, but obviously that's a degree below where you are. Rumours here are that he is in to replace Luke Charman, who is supposedly interesting Bradford City, Rochdale and Fylde. Reminds me a bit of my namesake - strong, direct, great feet, and can...
It did happen to us, and I've had as much, if not more enjoyment these last few years as we've tried to get back to the EFL. We've plateaued now, due to the ridiculous number of hobby clubs having fortunes thrown at them even at NLN level, however I'm content to have my team to watch.
Challinor seems a confident bloke. I'm sure he's looked at the Stockport squad, the financial backing, current position and thought I'll get them promoted. Longer term, they would appear to have more financial clout than Singh can muster. It's ok saying consolidate with Pools, and go for a...
Good win against a decent Hereford side. Looked the better side until lost our left back, and had to switch Hedley, a midfielder covering right back, to left back, and bring on a midfielder in Purser to play Right Back. Hereford then got a lot of joy down that wing, and we were penned back for...
Must admit, thought that was your usual style, especially with Waring up there. Be interesting tonight then, which of us easy on the eye teams has the most cutting edge.
It's not like it was knee level. Just not suited to our game. First time it's happened in a long time. One of those things you have to put up with when you're a tenant, but I appreciate your outrage.
Two teams Saturday that wouldn't have scored if we'd played all night. The Rugby club deciding not to cut the grass didn't help our quick passing game, and aided Chester's pressing game. They were on top for 20/25 minutes first half, then we probably had more of the ball but created little...
