Team wasn’t quite as depleted as we thought as we took chances on Bell and Mengi. Mengi was clearly only partially fit at best so fair play to him for going out there.
Truely awful game though by 2 really poor looking sides. Point probably fair, bit of brilliance from Chong aside we never...
Maybe, but the problem is we are also the perfect “get right” game for them in that sense too. Threadbare, low confidence, and the supporters very close to turning on the manager and team (if they aren’t there already)
We are up shit creek for tomorrow night with WBA. Have I think 1 available centre half and Doughty is suspended.
Barring a miracle recovery or us wheeling out an actually injured player I’m not sure what we are actually able to do. Probably be McGuinness and Hashioka and I guess we have to go...
Edwards is taking most of the blame but there’s plenty to go around at the moment. We looked tired and leggy today even first half. Was going to criticise the fact he didn’t freshen it up after 2 big efforts in recent games where we’ve gone with a more physical pressing approach.
Then I looked...
Yep think every fan of every team has seen that game were you are 2-0 up but never really earned it and you just KNOW if one goes in the rest would follow.
Just never had any sort of control of the midfield in the game and we couldn’t find any solution for that.
Funny old game. Played pretty well in the week and lost, getting pretty dominated here and 2-0 up. A definite penalty and a really good bit of quality from Krauss for adebayo to score but that aside, we’ve been up against it
Definitely not over yet, there’s goals in this for Coventry for sure...
Away to Coventry this lunchtime for us. 3rd game in the week so you wonder if we can keep the way we have played in the most recent 2 games going. We’ve been heavy pressing and aggressive, almost to a more extreme degree than what we were a couple of years ago.
Both sides not really living up...
Absolutely unbelievable statement from us after Elijah Adebayo has, once again, had racist abuse directed toward him online
https://www.lutontown.co.uk/en/news/is-it-ever-going-to-stop
This part is incredible:
To the individual who cowardly dropped into Elijah’s DMs: We know who you are and...
After about 2 minutes I thought we were in for a real beating as Sunderland cut through us with real ease twice.
After that we found our feet and it was that aggressive pressing direct performance we had against Watford. Really thought we played well and almost roughed them up a bit...
Didn’t realise there only win was against us, that’s probably the only other game this season where we looked ok too.
Still on a high after yesterday, I really wasn’t expecting us to finally turn up I must admit. Although today the win somewhat tainted by the injury situation, not sure what...
Totally agree, not sure where the intensity has been but great to see it back today. That’s what got us promoted, it needs to be built upon though.
The injury situation is ridiculous and it seems to consistently impact the defence and centre halves in particular for whatever reason. There must...
Finally a performance that you can recognise from us this season. We were back to being aggressive and direct in the game where that really mattered most.
Huge win and hopefully a turning point for us
I don’t think winning tomorrow does much unless it’s backed up by a run of results. A win tomorrow buys maybe an additional 5 games before the pressure mounts again if we don’t make some improvements.
Being honest I’m kind of expecting to lose tomorrow, but the manner is almost as important to...
We have further injury issues. Mengi is out, Walters has somehow broken his foot and is now out for 2 months.
This alongside Bell and Andersen being absent too. McGuinness is also a doubt but given the situation with others I imagine we might try and push him out there. Leaves us light in...
It’s not really based on one game though is it? We’ve been totally rubbish this season and despite expectations to the contrary stoked by the manager himself, and losing to Watford would be the final straw for a lot of people
Pretty much agree with that tbh. The key thing with that side was a very aggressive mentality. You can see from this season that that mindset is totally gone, typified by Edwards attitude this season which could be largely described as tired resignation
Club have just posted a picture of him at the training ground and “building toward Derby day” . So seems the rumour was premature at best.
Although I still think he’s on borrowed time. Funny looking back in hindsight at this post seems rather foolish, then again didn’t think we would be quite...
Well, we were 13th at the time of Edward’s first game and not in especially great form. Edwards certainly had a huge positive impact but the real thing that did it was the Nakamba signing really, he was the missing ingredient of that team that put it over the edge
Rumours swirling that Edwards has walked away today.
If true and he’s walked and not pushed, that sort of chimes with a lot of his recent behaviour. He’s looked down, sitting down in the dugout during games and post match interviews looking very depressed and bereft of anything to really say...
