Another win! Get in!
First half we were brilliant. Second half was a nervous one.
Ref was a bit inconsistent which didn’t help us. Bristol fouls 15 - 0 bookings
Ipswich fouls 11 - 3 bookings
Bristol ‘smack the ball away’ - 0 booking
Ipswich ‘roll the ball away’ - 1 booking
Oh well, another 3...
I’d say that’s a fair reflection of the game.
Looking back at the penalty call, it’s a 50/50 situation, some refs would give it, some wouldn’t. Wouldn’t say he was a brilliant ref, pretty inconsistent for both sides.
A draw was probably fair, but lucky at the same time for us. We did get...
At the start of the season I was hoping 60-65 points, keep us safe from the drop.
But using the average points required for that with remaining games, 70 points could be a realistic total to aim for which has in the past been play off points.
Still early days but it’s definitely been a far...
Well done Plymouth, very much deserved!
A cracking season, can’t believe we’ve managed top two after our poor run, points deficit and run in since February. I doubt we’ll have a season like this in a long time! Gutted we didn’t get the 100 points when it was so close at the end though!
Really...
To be fair, season ticket holders could get one extra ticket for £10 for that game, I didn’t realise until virtually sold out. Tuesday nights are normally lower because of travelling distances of fans.
Although the stadium name hasn’t changed, individual stands have had multiple names.
The south stand (now the Sir Alf Ramsey stand) was known as the Greene King stand when I was younger. The stand opposite the away end (in the Cobbold stand) has been multiple names since I’ve been going. That’s...
There’s been plenty of postings since this post but I meant to reply to this last night!
You’re completely incorrect there. You’re more likely to get a penalty when you’re in the oppositions penalty area.. We had all 10 outfield players in your third of pitch for the majority of the game, with...
Which is why it’s probably best he wasn’t the ref to appoint.
In business, if there is any links to a client with an employee, it has to be considered by the employer of situations which would make it difficult for the employee to work competently and impartial.
Having a Sheffield Wednesday...
I’m not going to say that it is certain but during a lot of the 70 years were during a period when clubs would require election to the football league (not promotion), which in my opinion makes it less of an achievement to be up there.
Once we were elected to the football league in late 1930s...
I really don’t understand the sudden turn on Town fans.
Town fans are excited and make it visible because there has been almost 2 decades of boredom and no ambition or care for the club. Yes, we may have spent more money for a league 1 team over the last two years (particularly this January)...
No it’s not. We were almost top 6 for the whole season we lost in the play offs to Norwich in 14/15 and we only averaged just under 20k then.
So much more positivity with the club, ambition visible from the top.
Ticket prices are going up next season, and I can imagine there would have been...
With all due respect, a very large portion will have been. Albeit a slow decline from 24k to 16k over 12 years
Some would have been because of McCarthy’s later years. The year after he left (our relegation Year) our average home attendances went up 1500
