The season has almost reached its climax so I thought I would get the ball rolling with regard to the division's team of the year, as voted for by you, the 1FF L1 community. This used to run on TFF and the idea is that every couple of days I put up a thread for a different position and you lovely lot will determine the best player in L1 for that particular position.

Anyway, a few house rules:

You CANNOT nominate a player from the team you support.

You are only allowed ONE nomination per position unless stated otherwise (for positions like CB and CM, you will obviously be permitted to nominate two players).

DON'T post any of your nominations here. This is purely a thread to kick things off, let people know what I'm doing and to hopefully make things look pretty at the end.

You CANNOT vote for a player who no longer plays for a team in the division (e.g Afobe, Doyle, Logan etc).

Please BOLD your final nominees in their respective threads to prevent confusion.

The 1FF L1 Team of the Year will take the shape of a 4-4-2 formation. I understand said formation is out of fashion right now and most teams in this league play 3-5-2 or 4-2-3-1, but for argument's sake, I'm going to use 4-4-2. Therefore, when the relevant threads are up, you'll be nominating 1 GK, 1 RB, 1 LB, 2 CBs, 1 RM, 1 LM, 2CMs and 2 STs.

1FF L1 Team of the Year (4-4-2)

GK:
Wes Foderingham (Swindon Town)

RB: Nathan Byrne (Swindon Town)
CB: Aden Flint (Bristol City)
CB: Kyle McFadzean (MK Dons)
LB: Joe Bryan (Bristol City)

RM:
Paddy Madden (Scunthorpe United)
CM: Dele Alli (MK Dons)
CM: Luke Freeman (Bristol City)
LM: Matt Done (Sheffield United)

ST:
Joe Garner (Preston North End)
ST: Ian Henderson (Rochdale)

If Paddy Madden isn't in then you're all biased.

Won't be voting for Wes Foderingham, or Joe Garner when we get to strikers.

This is the only circumstance where having a massive numerical advantage over everyone else on this forum hinders us - there's more of us to vote for other players of other clubs..

Seems like a reasonable team there. If Freeman and Flint weren't in there I'd be concerned.

So the bench for our 1FF League One XI based on the runners-up:

GK - David Martin (MK Dons)
ST - Will Grigg (MK Dons)
ST - Aaron Wilbraham (Bristol City)
CM - Massimo Luongo (Swindon)
CM - Daniel Johnson (Preston)
LB - Dean Lewington (MK Dons)
CB - Paul Huntingdon (Preston)

Left-back instead of a right-back included because there was a clear runner-up, Ayling in second place for RB only had 2 votes. No right or left midfielders either because they were duplicates (Henderson or Done) and the remaining runners-up had less votes than any of the striker or centre mid runners-up.
