Surely we must score in this one, five games now without a goal or point. A defeat will see a melt down on 'The Fishy' and calls for our new man to be sacked (already the knives are out). I predict 3-1 to us with all 20 Morecambe fans wishing they hadn't bothered going, just like Morecambe's remaining 980 supporters who stayed at home.

Best thing about this game is that it’s only costing £15.40 for me and the lad instead of the usual £24 thanks to some offers in the Telegraph.

Got nil nil written all over it this one!

Having said that, is Kevin Ellison still playing for them? If so they'll probably nick it 1-0!

It’s not gonna be one for the purists that’s for sure.

Wouldn't surprise me to see Jolley sacked if we lose this one, fan pressure is already in full effect nevermind if we lose to one of the worst teams in the division. We should only even think about a dismissal if we're adrift at the bottom by Christmas. Hearing the wannabe managers on Twitter making out that 4-4-2 is the simple answer to all our problems is very tiresome already and proves how fickle and naive our fanbase is. I'm praying for Jolley's sake we win this one so he can shut some people up for at least a little while.

Quietly confident we can turn our season around on Saturday. I don't think we've been as bad as it seems. The Newport and Bury games were poor but we were well in the game against both Yeovil and Stevenage, as well as the Oldham game before we self destructed. We just need to seriously start pulling the trigger around the box. Our build up isn't bad at all but we can't always walk it into the net, evidently. I think our midfield can dominate the game enough to see us actually create a clear cut chance or two. If Vernam and/or Pringle don't start however my confidence will be cut drastically.

Why were Grimsby so fancied by quite a lot of people? I'm not trying to be controversial for the sake of it I'm just genuinely asking, because there was so much hype which was strange because even when Grimsby won games this season, it seemed to be by set pieces/penalties.

There's always hype around Grimsby in pre-season

The general feeling was that as Jolley managed to turn last seasons shower of shite into a team playing good football, then with his own players there was confidence that this season whilst being probably up and down would still be much better.
Obviously a terrible start but I’ve still got faith he can turn it around.

I've said a number of times that I'm very excited for our future under Jolley, but that's a future at least 2 years down the line. The guy is clearly very smart and has his head firmly screwed on but his inexperience as a manager has shown quite a lot so far this season. He will learn from his mistakes and once he gets things the way he wants, I think we'll be a force. It was just never going to be an overnight thing. I'll admit I thought we'd signed some very good players under the radar and after the Lincoln and MK games, despite only drawing, the performances left me very optimistic. We've seen enough glimpses of what we can be, it's just that old typical battle of finding consistency. We'll get there.

Strangely optimistic and looking forward to this one now, think it’s probably more the case that I haven’t been for over a month due to work so I’m just missing football.
3-1 Town.

Can’t believe how easy I just got parked, signs of a very low crowd that as it’s usually a nightmare to park anywhere near the ground.

Thank Christ we have a great keeper in Macca, daylight robbery that we’re leading here but if we get the result I don’t give a shit.

Morecambe no.9 is winning every header though and if they score I think it will be from a knock down from him, massive second half coming up here.

Diabolical, embarrassing, disgraceful. Completely collapsed AGAIN and spent the second half having the piss taken out of us by fucking Morecambe. Shit line-up with Vernam not playing AGAIN. Pringle was the only player on the pitch with any sort of quality when he came on.

I've watched every game either in the flesh or through iFollow so far but after that I need a break. I still maintain everything I said prior to the match but that game has seriously threw my patience out the window.

At least we fucking scored.

Only positive from today was Embleton looked decent and Pringle’s crosses were excellent.

I’ve missed the last months games due to work and I didn’t realise just how poor we really are, last 15 minutes Morecambe were absolutely taking the piss out of us with one touch passing back and forth eventually leading to holding the ball in the corners.

Disgraceful performance, we could still be playing now and wouldn’t have scored again, that performance is easily as bad as anything I saw last season under Slade, and boy did I see some absolute shite last season.

Based purely on today, we are completely fucking doomed.

Could it be said that Grimsby's pre-season BULLISHNESS was slightly misplaced?

Seems Jolley is out his depth BUT Grimsby's biggest problem is Fenty end of.

On reflection I think most of my anger stemmed from just how pathetically bad Danny Collins has become. He's generally been reliable since he came under Hurst but I have already lost count on how many times he's been skinned and made crucial mistakes this season. He has single handedly lost us points if you ask me. I thought we were slightly better going forward and Thomas had a shot that cannoned off the underside of the bar and was inches from going in at 1-0, if that goes in it's likely over, though given our defence that's never a certainty.

I think having a game tomorrow night gives Jolley more time as it gives the board less chance to stew on it. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see him gone even though, despite the run, is still a terrible decision. Give him until Christmas at the very least. If we're adrift and looking like we're already down, it will be time to move on. It's still far too early.

Danny Collins has definitely been one of a few contributing factors. Jolley is inexperienced but I highly doubt we would find someone who would do a better job. Consistency is needed in our performances but also to remain consistent with the same manager.

I hope Grimsby stick with Jolley for a bit, at least he was tries to play good football, unlike Slade and actually seems a decent bloke.

Whilst I agree about Collins I’ve seen some on Twitter saying why didn’t he just take the guy out outside the box for their first goal, but he was already on a yellow so I get why he couldn’t make a proper challenge.

Don't know if I should put this in here - it's got nothing to do with the Morecambe game - but I just love watching this kind of stuff. Some great footage indeed!
