Time to start keeping tabs on who everyone in this division has on the books. As per usual, try and stick to one post per team, unless the person who makes the original post stops updating it. Also, what positions are you still looking to fill.

We need another goalie, the usual situation we have, search for someone who might provide competition to Mark Gillespie, end up with your standard reserve keeper who while not terrible is a reserve for a reason. I think this is the case with most clubs. It's a lot to expect two decent keepers on the books so you're just hoping to unearth an underrated diamond.

Most of the talk towards the end of the season was about our lack of wingers, so unsurprisingly we've gone winger-mad during the early part of the summer.

We're also in talks with Newcastle about bringing Gillead and Gillesphey back for another season, though how successful that is, we don't know yet. Not been any recent updates and Newcastle may feel they should be stepping up to League 2, and we have said we would like to bring Hallam Hope back but Curle has admitted he'd be out of our price range.

Update: 23rd June.

Defence looks a touch better with the news that Zoumana Bakayogo has signed. Could be the first decent LB we've signed up in years(not counting loanees). Also looking to offload one of the shite CBs, hopefully its Ray and we can replace him with an experienced player. That should help massively.

After a midfielder, but if it is who TNO thinks it is(and I agree with him), then I don't think that the player improves us at all. The midfield looks seriously weak at the moment, mostly young guys with potential, but no commanding presence, no leader, no proven quality.

Upfront, we are after another striker it seems, which is good because we need 1 more. Not sure if they'll be a wide player or a centre forward. Wonder who that might turn out to be? Probably some donkey that got released by a L2 club after scoring 4 in 40 last season or something similarly uninspiring.

Goalkeepers:

Alex Cisak
Charlie Grainger (YTS)
Sam Sargeant (YTS)

Defenders:

Nicky Hunt
Sean Clohessy
Josh Docherty*
Callum Kennedy*
Tom Parkes*
Yvan Erichot*
Myles Judd (YTS)
Aron Pollock (YTS)
(Alan Dunne - under contract but will not be selected)

Midfielders:

Sammy Moore
Nigel Atangana
Robbie Weir*
Liam Kelly*
Freddie Moncur (YTS)

Wingers:

Dean Cox
Gavin Massey*
Josh Koroma (YTS)
Sandro Semedo (YTS)

Strikers:

Jay Simpson
Paul McCallum
Ollie Palmer
Armand Gnanduillet
Jordan Bowery*
Victor Adebojeyo (YTS)
Scott Kashket (YTS) - appears he may have been binned off, but who really knows?

About as threadbare as you can get, especially in defence. Three excellent keepers though, so that's alright.

In Dean Cox and Jay Simpson we have probably the best winger & striker in the division (not sure why I'm even bothering to say 'probably'), but there's not much else to write home about. Robbie Weir seems to be an excellent signing, but there's not a lot of creativity in the middle of the park and I'd be unsurprised to see us adding another body in there [edit: hello Liam Kelly].

Youngster Aron Pollock is the only contracted centre back at the club, and he's made a grand total of two league starts (though we did manage clean sheets in those games, albeit against a pair of pisspoor Yeovil & Mansfield sides). Two senior pros to come in there [edit: Tom Parkes signs from promoted Bristol Rovers, and ex-AS Monaco youngster Yvan Erichot arrives after playing 30+ games in the Jupiler League]. Nicky Hunt to fill in when needed. Unlikely that Josh Doherty is going to be first choice left back, so unless Clohessy is going to spend the season out of position we'll be after one of those as well. [edit: Callum Kennedy has now signed. Solid left back.]

Up front we've got three [edit: four now we've signed Bowery] enormous lumps to play aimless hoofball towards and hope the ball bounces off them in the general direction of Jay Simpson. Paul McCallum looks the pick of the bunch - hopefully he won't snap his knee in half in September again.

If we sign a natural right winger/midfielder, it will be the first one we've signed since 2007 (seriously), so I won't hold my breath. [edit: could've held it - Gavin Massey, what a top signing!])

Not that any of this matters, as Coco will invariably appoint himself as de facto manager at some point. What? He already has and Yessenthaler is being paid through the nose to pretend to pick the team and not sue him for assault? Goodo.

We also have Harry Clifton still under contract and Max Wright (winger) just signed a contract last week. Yes I know they are only youths and probably won't feature a lot, but can't be discounted.

We are still after a striker, A right back and maybe another winger. We need some options in defence as back up too. Can't see us signing anything else in midfield after one more winger. I'll update this throughout the Summer but Murray says he is hoping to have his business wrapped up in 10 days.

All players who were offered contracts to stay have either signed up or left to go elsewhere.

So far we have 3 players who are signed on so far

Carey
Jervis
Sawyer

13 players offered contracts don't think all will sign

Can see Nelson,Reid,Hartley and mchugh all leaving possibly even Carey even though he's signed a contract.

I'll not be able to keep this up to date. I'm off on travels and will be largely off the grid until returning after the first match of the season. However, I'm sure someone can can use cut/paste to correct my errors/omissions and take over when needed.

Chris Dunn (will be on his way)
Sam Beasant (will be on his way)

Defence
Elliot Omozusi (hardly got a look in last season, probably move on?)

Mark Roberts (may move on but probably not?)
Greg Taylor

Midfield
Conor Newton
James Dunne (hopefully but I've not noticed a new contract)
Luke Berry
George Maris
Ryan Horne
Keith Keane (hopefully find a new home)
Is Jeff Hughes still in the building?

Wingers

Medy Elito

A lot of work still to do - both in and out. We know that we have 2 keepers, 1 or 2 defenders and a midfielder (or 2?) under contract that Derry would prefer to move on. Until that money is freed up, he may struggle to get his ideal squad but we are clearly in the market for at least a couple of strikers (looks like we've missed out on Amond) another winger and hopefully some fullbacks (Christian Ribieiro?). At least a couple of these seem likely to be loans (Michael Petrasso?).

Hopefully most will be in hand already and sorted before the week away in Eindhoven, with matches against KFC Uerdingen 05 on 13/7 and SG Wattenscheid 09 on 16/7.

Expecting most of the offered deals to sign apart from Reid and McHugh. Nelson is going to Barnsley and Hartley has gone.

Think we're short of a right back to replace Ribeiro and need another central midfielder. Plenty of attacking options for our favoured 4-3-3 formation....Happy with the new signings and think Lloyd James and Liam McAlinden will be good for us next season. Simpson seems to be a proper team player and Troy will be superb if we can get him fit but that's a huge if.

As it stands I suspect we will be top 10 but not good enough for play offs

When the signings were announced, I thought we looked fairly strong but seeing it on paper is very different altogether.

Our season will depend on the four remaining loan signings that are yet to be made. Unfortunate that with the new ruling, parent clubs are unlikely to send them out until most of the clubs pre-season work will be done.

Still lots of work to do before August 6th but the basis of a decent enough squad is there. We've apparently got a few trialists in ahead of our pre-season games but we've been told not to expect many above a 20 man pro squad this year. Now is that our total squad or plus loans I have no idea. As long as what ailed us over the final 4 months of last season has been fixed we'll be fine.

We basically need one more experienced Centre half and our squad will be good to go. Our cover at left back is also questionable as Josh Doherty doesn't look ready to start just yet, but young winger Sandro Semedo has played there a few times and looks like he may be able to fill in there if needed.

Right now thats 23 senior players and one of the stronger squads at this level, if we don't make the top seven at least, everyone at the club needs to take a long hard look at themselves.
