As Chipmunx will tell you this is a question that divides RP.

He seemed to have the players respect and they played for him, but his football was deathly dull.
Yeah, I think that's perhaps a decision to be make by the Board in the sense that you've had, from the outside anyway, three similar managers in Keates, Ricketts and Hughes whose sides have lacked goals.

I'm a little out of the loop now with available managers at this level tbh. Think you'll go after someone or look at an available manager?

I doubt we'd want to pay compensation. So probably someone out of work. Mark Yates maybe?

It depends whether we continue the FAW coaching model we seem to have adopted. To be fair to Hughes the team he assembled probably has got goals in it. Losing Hooper to injury hasn't helped but the main issue is that we don't have a midfield. If someone could come in and fix that there is no reason we shouldn't do well.

Also Lainton needs to come back. Dibble is doing his best to lose matches on his own at the moment.

Yates probably isn't a bad shout to be fair.

Aspin's probably applied, Brabin certainly will have done! Paul Cox?

If Paul Cox gets it they'll go bankrupt in 12 months.... and the footballs awful to watch

One thing not to forget here is Sheridan is still at Chesterfield. Wrexham have acted quicker and both clubs would/should be looking at similar candidates, meaning Chesterfield would end up with someone Wrexham have rejected unless Sheridan goes within the next 24 hours or so.
Both clubs though have problems behind the scenes that complicate recruitment;- Chesterfields have an owner who doesn't seam to know what he's doing and Wrexham have Darlington (who is he?) who seams to have a lot of influence on selection.

Can Chesterfield afford to sack Sheridan?

When they poached him from us they offered him better wages than he was on at Carlisle, and it was pretty clear that what they were offering was a big factor in his jumping ship, and a three year contract.

It's a tricky situation for them - at some point if they don't improve "can't afford to sack him" will become "can't afford to not sack him or they'll go down"

It took a 20 game winless run for Chesterfield to finally sack Martin Allen last season so I wouldn't hold your breath.

Our board would have been lynched if a farce like that went on at our place. They always act when a manager is beyond help. Would help if they appointed good ones in the first place, admittedly.

It seems the house is on Keates returning, which would be a 50/50 fan split. Some will never forgive him for leaving us when were about 6 weeks away from a potential promotion. I wouldn't be that against him coming back considering he assembled a lot of this squad and knows this league inside out. He'd be a relatively safe pair of hands to steer us up the table and we know that there's no chance he'd be poached again considering he's a failed League manager.

Maybe you should go on Chesterfield’s forum and find out what’s going on?

60/40 against him if RP and Twitter are to believed. About 850 voted on the twitter poll I saw, sounds like the amount Halifax get at home.

Chief may not know it, but that sort of comment only helps Wrexham to come across as proper tinpot.

A tiny club with only 850 home fans is currently in second place, while the massive club with 5000 plus home fans is down in 21st, with just the two wins to their name.

How is Challinor still at Fylde? Is that the third time they've shipped 4 goals this season? And at home to Barnet?

I thought they won the league in June?

Dean Keates appointed Wrexham manager...again.

They do know they're allowed to appoint managers that have no previous connection to the club, don't they?
