Well that was fucking dire.

Grimsby were poor but we were absolutely awful. Worst performance of the season with ease. No one had a good game and our play was disjointed without Spencer up top doing the link up play. It seemed our players had weights strapped to their boots being slow to turn and woeful first touches.

It wasn't a 3-0 game, but then again neither was the Luton one on the opening day. 2 goals from set pieces and a McCormick error proving the difference. Grimsby have enough about them going forward to worry teams, but at the back look very fragile but for a few superb last ditch challenges.

Never mind, onto the next one.

Side note: I was disappointed to only see one inflatable fish among the Grimsby faithful. Decent enough turnout from them and they at least looked like they were having a good time, even if most of the noise they were making was getting lost in the wind as it seemed from where I was sat.

I wondered why Vose and Browne have been left out - now its clear why, he wasn't happy with the way they had trained last week. Clear that he has a really strong work ethic and if players aren't prepared to put in the hard yards they won't get in the team. Mentioned the fans a few times in the interview and the importance for them seeing that, win, draw, lose all the players have put in the hard yards...
