Thought there'd be a thread already..

Looking forward to tomorrow, on the 09:49 train. Just over 1100 sold as of this morning, recent form possibly knocked a few people off. Could really do with grabbing a win, and hoping the other teams at the top drop points as we're slipping.

Team I'd go with:
Gillespie
Miller Raynes Gillesphey McQueen Kennedy Liddle Joyce Adams
Miller Wyke

Surprised we've still not seen a left back come in, don't really fancy McQueen playing in that position. I'd like to see Liddle pushed into midfield but Curle will probably play him in defence again.

Do we need one? We all know how the match is going to end against Stanley, especially the way we're playing right now!

Here is Curle's post match interview after our defeat tomorrow:

Agree with all of this. That's the starting 11 I'd pick.

I'm not saying Liddle didn't play well in defence last week, but I feel we desperately need him in midfield. It's no coincidence that we've played like relegation candidates since Jones has been out. Liddle has the qualities to do a similar job to Jones so that's where he needs to be tomorrow.

However I fully expect Liddle will be in defence again.

I can see this ending all square. 2-2

Does anybody else think 'Carver' is actually HG's second account? :pond:I hear this thing's in vogue right now.

Just watched Curle's pre match press conference and Gary Liddle is going be playing LEFT BACK.

Fucking hell what a complete and utter waste of time that is. He's a central midfielder, a centre back at a push. He's not a fucking left back that's for sure!

Curle you fucking idiot you are testing my patience now.

All the bookies have Accrington Stanley down as favourites for this match. I find that quite surprising.

Brisley, Ellis and McKee have all been transfer listed.

Fair enough, but we haven't really seen enough of McKee and as for Brisley well he has been a big disappointment because he was seen at first to be a better version of Raynes.

They're dropping like flies...

McKee can count himself unlucky, I think he'd have been decent in a free role in front of Joyce and Jones but he hasn't been given the opportunity for whatever reason. Ellis is a weird one, I thought he and Raynes were a good partnership at the back but he seems to have lost all confidence since they got split up. Brisley has just been a disaster, came in with high hopes but started off the season injured and hasn't been able to step up to the plate when asked. I'm sure he's a good defender but it just hasn't worked for him here. With Ellis and Brisley, he's maybe trying his old trick of listing them to give them a kick up the arse and to get them to start performing.

Or more likely, he spunked all of his budget in the summer and is now desperate for cash to be able to bring in some new blood and stop the rot.

People are shitting themselves because Curle is shaking things up.

It's a good thing imo. The defence has been utter shit of late. If we can bring in someone to give us a bit more solidity and then allow Liddle to play in midfield once the defence is sorted, we'll be looking much better and could really push on. If we keep it the way it is there's no way we'd go up.

I'm not holding out much hope today. I'm leaning more towards us getting a point but wouldn't be surprised if we lost.

We're looking for a huge improvement after a very poor performance away at Cheltenham last week. We're very unpredictable no idea how this is going to go. Will be great to see a busy away end and I'm sure a great atmosphere. Go easy on Coleman- he's feeling the pressure!!

Playing most of this natch against 10 men . Has to be 3 points. Anything less would be a disgusting result that would just continue our run of playing like a relegation team.

That is an absolutely stinking result given the circumstances.

That's now 2 wins in 8 (2 wins in 10 in all competitions), no clean sheet in 15 league games (that is absolutely disgraceful). Piss poor performance after piss poor performance, dropping points against teams down at the bottom end with less players on the pitch than ourselves.

Scrap top 3, that's going to be gone very soon, especially once the tough games come up in a few weeks if not before then. I'm more concerned that before long we won't even be top 7. That's a real possibility and likelihood.

We're playing like relegation candidates at the moment, we can't even beat 10 men who got dicked off one of the worst sides in the league last week.

It's going to be a long second half of the season unless Curle pulls some rabbits out of the hat in the transfer market.

We are a very very poor side.

I told you all in November Carlisle would finish about 10th, looking more likely by the game.

I agree. Although I think it may end up being 8th due to the good first half of the season we had, which would be really annnoying.

I'm so glad they've been booed off, absolutely fucking shite today. Against 10 men and we had one chance, one fucking chance. I don't think the players expected the booing, but they deserved it. Not one player can say they had a good game foday, diabolical.

I just hope we can get a playoff spot now.

It's the second half of last season all FUCKING over again, players huffing and puffing and not creating anything. I'm fucking sick of it and I wish our c*** owner would hurry up and pull his old fucking finger out and sell the club to this mystery investor/billionaire the c***.

Need a new stadium as well.

Haha, Curle confirming he spent all of his budget in the summer and has nowt left after the game on the radio then...

He said that if we don't get an extra 2k through the gate on Saturday, then we can't complain if he doesn't bring any players in to replace those already let go/transfer listed. He also offered to go meet a bloke face-to-face who had in text in to say it was shite.

He must be starting to feel it!

The way we've been playing this past month there's no chance there'll be another 2000 on the gate, I'd be surprised if it's any higher than the last game.

I still can't believe how shite we were yesterday, I can only remember one decent chance where the keeper pushed it wide in the 2nd half. Just shocking considering we were playing a bottom five side with 10 men for 80 minutes, didn't look like scoring. In fact we were camped in our own box for the last five minutes.

You know what your problem is HG? You only look at the negatives and it doesn't hurt to look at the bright side of life every once in a while. Even if you lot do the impossible and fail to pick up a single point from now on, I reckon 48 points will be more than enough to stay up this season.

It's not the manager who is the problem it's the fucking board being tight c*** again and not getting on with the proposed takeover.

If it wasn't for Keith Curle then we'd be in the Northern Premier division by now, same league as Workington.

If it's not happening then we should drive Jenkins out like we did to Knighton.

AGGRESIVE PROTESTS.

Ugh... just ugh.

Once again beating Notts just after Christmas is the high water mark of our season.

The great irony, if you're a reader of Ben Mayhew's Experimental 361 site, is that before Christmas when we were holding strong in 2nd place we were hovering around 5th-7th place in his ratings table, mainly on account of the amount of chances we allowed against us.

Since the new year we have surged up to 3rd place, and taken Doncaster's spot at the top of the attack table.
