I'm just hoping Luke O'Nien will be fit after the kicking he took last night as him and Gape in midfield are playing superbly lately.

We are playing ok, we battered Exeter Tuesday but have no one to score with Pope out so imagine Wycombe will escape any defensive errors and we won’t.

Last time we went Adams Park we won promotion... great day that was. Now look at the mess we are in!

3-0.

Can't see us getting anything. A point would be great though if we learn how to defend.

2-0

You wouldn't say that if you saw our 2 defensive cock ups at Crawley last night mate :ffs:

We had 19 shots and 40 crosses on Tuesday... we still didnt score!

Can’t see us getting anything today. Akinfenwa will score at least a couple because our defending is absolutely woeful.

Wycombe seem similar to us in the year we went up. Score loads but concede loads of silly goals and have a reputation for playing anti-football, which we didn’t really play. We just got the ball out wide, quickly and got balls into the box.

Free hit for the vale this, not expected to get anything, we really need just have a go.
I’d play Whitfield and Barnett up top and drop the clueless Forrester.
Our midfield is rubbish, and there’s not much he can do to switch it around.
Wycombe have been the best side at vale this season, although they had a dodgy last quarter and we scored a couple but they have our nemesis in akinfenwa.
Having said that, we have got to beat someone, surely?
2-1 to vale.

Finally, Aspin has dropped Tonge.

Very attacking starting 11.

Not surprised Luke O'Nien is injured after the kicking he took at Crawley on Wednesday, Curtis Thompson makes his first start. Finally our right back Harriman has recovered from a broken leg and is on the bench. A front 3 of Nathan Tyson,Nick Freeman and The Beast in a 4-3-3 is our best formation with Craig Mackail-Smith, Scott Kashkett and Paris Cowan-Hall on the bench to come on if we're struggling.

Bloody hell! Most attacking side we’ve played this season and the midfield has the legs of Hannant with Pugh rather than ancient Tonge!

Huge gamble as could get battered it’s the type of line up we should be playing at home to weaker sides and we’ve crying for but to go Wycombe and play it away is brave indeed. Guess it’s a free hit type of game so may as well have a go rather than sit back for the inevitable 2-0 defeat.

Sounds as though we’ve matched them so far... 3 goals better off now than in the return fixture!

More than credible effort so far. Just hope no letting up now. Being a little greedy but if we can somehow snatch a winner now that would be huge.

Said before the kick off that I’d take a point.

Sure I’ve just heard Frank Turner being played after the final whistle. If so, that’s ace!

Seen a few people mention that the half time music was good.

Excellent if unexpected point with a rare clean sheet. We are drawing our way to safety!

Got to view that as a bonus really. Great effort from Vale that.

Huge point and one that was somewhat unexpected. Saw a stream at the end and had a nervy moment! Chesterfield don’t win tomorrow and we beat them Friday we should be about there.

Aspin got that spot on today. Hopefully he can now see how much better we look without 2 football dinosaurs in the middle of the park.

I like Hannants energy so he plus one works... but Kay is back shortly too!

Wycombe moaning about Smith roughing up The Beast grabbing his shirt etc... lol he pretty much piggy backed Kay for his goal at VP...

Smith did well today, well done on reaching 100 consecutive apps from his debut!

Yeh, it’s pretty lame us whining about fouls, but there you are. I can’t speak about today cos I wasn’t there but I think the grating thing is that Akinfenwa won’t ever win diddly from the ref because of his size.

But yeah, given the amount of bitching and whining we do on the pitch, you couldn’t blame a ref for getting fucked off with us.

As I say I wasn’t there, but from what I’ve heard, Vale came for the point and got it - which is fair enough, I don’t get people that say that isn’t legit tactics. “Not losing” is a reasonable goal in a relegation dogfight.

To be fair we didnt set up for a point as it was our most attacking line up of the season. Centre halves and keeper had a good game and when called upon your keeper made a couple of decent stops.

Did not expect the point so chuffed with it mind!

Pope gets the same treatment from defenders/refs.

A lot of the time centre halves wrestling with a forward is 50/50; as in, the ref could easily give the foul either way and both teams will moan when it doesn’t go their way.

Personally, I’d prefer it if the ref just let them get on with it and didn’t constantly stop the game for them. Unless it’s a clear push in the back or hands on shoulders situation then there’s really no need to be blowing.

Good solid point well done vale. Crewe are pretty much safe now with that win today. To be honest I don't know who I want win tomorrow as technically we want Notts county beat chesterfield but I wouldn't complain if Notts county lost every game they played and every player broke there legs based on that shit that Notts county prick posted on another topic.

This was painful to listen to

I loved the tweet from the club yesterday that said "Despite all the efforts of Vale defenders to take home Bayo's shirt he gave it to a young Wycombe fan at full time"

Having seen Pope manhandled in every game he has played for us, it finally seems like we have learnt to do the same..

We’ve been too honest, Aspin shafted himself by publicising that we have banned players from diving and feigning injury etc whilst we’ve watched teams come and do it to us week in week out... costs us as they get the advantage knowing we won’t resort to it if needed.

Popey gets fouled week in week out so it is frustrating but that’s the life of a target man, half the time Pope gets fouled the opponents get a free kick!

It’s neither here nor there though, Akinfenwa fouled Kay scoring at our place so he got the decision that cost the most.

In terms of the tweet, enjoyed our reply to it about letting him out his pocket to give the kid his shirt... good bants and Bayo joined in... light hearted and how it should be!

Hope Wycombe go up, soft spot after being great hosts for our promotion party and of course managed by the Vale legend. Still our biggest purchase and biggest sale (although Hugill with sell ons earnt must come close)
