20 premier league games next season will be live and exclusive on Amazon Prime.

OK I know that's the premiership but does this bode well or not for us down in the lower end of the leagues. Personally I'd love lower league footy on Prime as I have it anyway but I presume the I-follow contract restricts any further broadcasting.

Does anyone know the I-follow contract particulars?

As ridiculous as it is, the more subscriptions people pay it could end up cheaper actually going to the games!

Yeah, I think I pay £70 a year for Prime. I use Amazon fairly regularly and must have recouped that in the free delivery for Prime members . So the TV element is effectively free. They’re broadcasting every game on Boxing Day. I’d imagine I’ll be at our game, so it won’t make too much difference.

Yeah, the deal makes no difference to Sky. I don’t think anything will change in the short term

Long term we need more companies challenging Sky and BT, the more competition the lower the price.

Surely it's the opposite? Multiple companies with bottomless pockets bidding up the prices of various packages as they know they'll recoup the money from their subscribers.

Amazon will go in to try and screw Sky and BT and knock them both out of it.

once in control they will longer term screw the premiership when realistically competition is gone.

Its one of them where pound signs now could be liquidation later in the top flight.

Because I don’t believe there’s a profitable interest in a midweek game between Accrington and Fleetwood

How does i follow manage then?

By having every game in the football league every week.

Not sure that’s what’s on offer here unless I’m missing something?

Nothing for our leagues yet. It's just Amazon dipping their toe in the water with premier league matches. I was just wondering/hoping that they might broadcast lower league matches in the future. maybe they won't but if they do, it can hardly be any worse that what we have now.
