Cmon, who else is hyped for this?

I loved Asylum and City (never played the prequel made by wb montreal) and from what I've seen this has the potential to be even better on next gen, reflected by the 50gb install. It does seem quite batmobile orientated, which hopefully will add to the experience rather than become overkill.

Releases this coming tuesday, can't wait :)):

The gameplay trailers I've seen look exactly like City and Origins. Also the preorder bullshit they've been playing is disgusting. Not impressed.

Yeah, reviews seem very good but I've been put off slightly by the gameplay trailers. Don't get me wrong, I loved City and found Origins enjoyable too despite it's unoriginality but there's only so many iterations you can take before it being 'more of the same' isn't quite good enough regardless of how great the combat system and storytelling is. I'll reserve judgement till the final game though, especially knowing there's the batmobile and, I assume, other new stuff too.

Loved the first two games and this could be the game that tempts me to get a new console (along with the Fallout 4 announcement).

Not too bothered about the Batmobile malarkey that they seem to have based the game around, though.

IGN have scored it a 9.2 (for however much worth you put into an IGN score...) so I guess the rest of the reviews are popping up out there as well now. Good start though.

So I picked it up and have played the first few bits

The batmobile is fun and the graphics amazing. Only had one or two scraps so far and they aren't particularly different to previous games which is good

Visually it looks amazing, but I think I'll be avoiding it as it apparently runs like shit on the PC and is locked to 30fps.

Really enjoying this game now. And still liking the Bat mobile, surprisingly. Though it's kind of annoying having very different control schemes when switching between driving mode and tank mode.

Somebody said IN A review its best to swap the L2 / LT button with the brake button as its more intuitive that way, but can't figure out how to

This hasn't disappointed at all, love it. The story, map, combat, dialogue.... all brilliant. The batmobile addition has definitely freshened it up as well, really fun to use. And no loading times!

10/10 for me so far

Took me a little getting used to when using the batmobile, i'm sound with it now.

I'm currently 39% through the main story at the moment, saving all the side stuff until the end.

anyone played the harley quinn dlc yet?

Asylum was my favourite game on the 360. Despite that, I didn't really get to play City as I just started dating my girlfriend around its release. She bought me Arkham Knight yesterday though, so some form of justice has been served.

I think I'll appreciate this game a little more than those that played the last one because the city is new to me. I've spent the majority of my time looking at leaflets on cork boards and what it says on papers and graffiti. I also love exhausting conversations until they start to repeat. I could get about three years of enjoyment out of this game.

The first Riddler challenge ( obviously don't read on if you don't want spoliers ) made me feel dumb. The car is clearly notoriously annoying to control, but it was the final bridge on the third ramp that stumped me. I thought you had to make the long jump and failed about ten times before I realised it wasaas easy as pressing B again to produce another platform.

I couldn't even work out how to open the first door, I spent the whole time limit in front of it.

Really enjoying this game, people moan about the repetitive tank battles but for me they break up the monotony of the combat - in Origins and City it just felt like most of the game was spent swinging from perch to perch in predator mode, slowly picking people off. Got used to the handling of the batmobile now too and slowly working my way through the challenges. My only real complaint, as always with Arkham games is why are there soooo many Riddler trophies - like I get it's supposed to be an achievement to collect them all but fucking 326?! Seriously?

Great fan stuff as well with so many characters in. There's been 2 or 3 times where I've grinned like an excited kid when certain characters have popped up with basically no warning.

I just can't decide what missions to do. I have just done the airships in the main missions and blown up some big ass tanks

Haven't even looked at the dlc that came with the games yet

In terms of the story, this is one of the best games I've played in years. I'm 70% through the main story and, aside from the riddler trophies, about 50% through the various side missions. I don't think there's been a single main story part I haven't really enjoyed and it just seems to be getting better and better. I love the way the side missions integrate in too. There's a few gameplay quirks, something about the combat doesn't quite feel right - I think it's just the way you get swarmed by about 5 different enemy types at once and it purely becomes a button mashing exercise rather than any great amount of strategy or skill.

Just beaten the 'Arkham Knight' and I can pretty much guess the ending now, it's been quite predictable. Good...but predictable once you hit about 60-70% on the story.

Interesting how much the last parts of the game are spent in the batmobile, I didn't mind it personally as I've got enough of my fight on going around doing side missions and stuff but I can see why people were a bit peeved.

just worked my way back through the movie studio. i guessed what would happen with that Henry chap as soon as you get the message from him

it is a bit predictable, but i think most Batman stories are anyway???

i still have 2 'gaps' on my mission wheel too, haven't stumbled across those yet or is it not a full wheel? i think i am missing what would be 1 and 7 o clock if so

yeah you get both of them during the story. 1 o'clock only pops up right near the end, like on 89% or something.

I've finished the story, fantastic overall, I kinda hated that bit though
the part where you play as the Joker...it goes on foreeevvveeerrr

Gonna mop up the required villains to trigger the second ending and do everything aside from riddler trophies I think, will just find the final ending on Youtube.

Finished this last night. Great experience overall, the main story was really cool and a nice conclusion to the trilogy.

I wouldn't have minded if the the game as a whole was slightly longer and fleshed out though. I guess quality over quantity, but I would have liked to have seen a lot more of Scarecrow, Harley and the rest than we did.... and then there's all the villains that were missing completely as well. One of the best things about Asylum and City were the awesome boss fights too, I think this game suffers a bit without those. A bit too much focus on the militia?

Still, definitely one of the best games I've played in the last few years. Enjoyed pretty much every moment.

Finished main story now too. Still got a few days playing out of it though as have the protocol to trigger and also have the barely Quinn and red hood dlc.

Anyone started the game again? Does it start any different as it now has an exclamation mark against it

It's called New Game +, you basically get to keep all your upgrades and gadgets and do it again I think, there's some subtle differences like the blue/red/yellow counter signals don't appear, you have to time your counters by watching your enemies - which sounds harder than it is tbf. I did it on Arkham City I think, can't remember anything else though.

so you have to do all of the riddler puzzles to complete the game.... so not arsed doing that.

dissapointed with the two DLCs too, rattled through both in an hour

How do you do side missions on this? I'm not too far in, just trying to get used to the controls.

I've got to the point where
Gordon finds out his daughter has been working for Batman before being kidnapped. The only side missions I have on the menu are finding the firefighters and Riddler challenges. When I select either of them, no marker appears on the compass. Do you find missions if you just explore the City? Because everywhere looks the same to me and it's just streets full of thugs. I'm just been concentrating on the main story in the meantime.

For missions like the fireman etc you hear updates from the gcpd helicopters and eventually the word Intel appears under them

Or you stumble across them totally by accident!
