Two bang average (at best) sides battling for a top 7 place. Yay. The fact we are sixth, playing absolute dogshite, barely winning a game with a idiot for a manager really bewilders me. It's also frustrating. The shiteness of everyone else in this league, forcing us to be sixth, is keeping Steve Davis in a job ffs.

Besides that it's a pretty terrible week for us, the FA Cup embarrassment paling into insignificance with Andy Woodward's Guardian article. It's horrendous what he went through and for him to hold the club (and town) in such disdain (rightly!) shows how badly it's been managed by the club. It's absolutely disgusting the club have continued it's one size fits all media management style of bolting the door and refusing to acknowledge it. It petrifies me what else may be in the closet, especially from what Woodward has said.

I don't really care for Saturday's result.

Fully agree with everything. Another depressing week for the club. Theboard should have a statement issued regarding Woodward and his horrendous experiences, but I'm expecting nothing but silence. You do worry how deep this rabbit hole goes.

Martin Allen has some interesting things to say about the Crewe fanbase and their opinions towards Davis in his most recent interview

What has been the Crewe fans' reaction to Andy Woodward's revelations?
I have to admit that I wouldn't feel the same about my club if something similar came out implicating us.

As for the match, as long as Akinde plays we always have a chance!

By and large most are absolutely disgusted with the club's handling of it but not at all surprised (we are crewe, his is how we handle any bad time). There are a couple of idiots who have brushed it away saying it was 20-30 years ago and 'nothing new', which is an absolute bollocks excuse seeing as Woodward has firstly waived anonyminity and secondly been all over the national media asking why Crewe allowed it to happened. Compounded by the fact that there are still staff and board members at the club who were here when the abuse happened, it's certainly not the case that it's nothing to do with the current regime.

First and foremost, Barry Bennell is utter scum and for somebody like him is worthy of the death penalty.

But just for the sake of balance, with regards to the clubs lack of statement, it maybe because of the below link and the fact they need to seek some kind of legal advise before they respond......

Interesting and actually not that surprising considering that victims of abuse often become perpetrators later on.

Oh very true, and that is something that cannot be discounted in this instance, but again, and this if for the sake of balance, the timing of his statements to the national press seem a little odd in light of the fact he has been sacked from the police for doing what he has alleged was done to him, and also, it seems Mr Woodward is not immune from trying to distort the truth......

Further proof that the bloke is a moron. He should keep his woefully under informed opinions to himself.

Got a feeling we are going to get beaten badly today.

Barnet 3-0 Crewe (Akindie 2, Akpa-Akpro) 2,112 (308 Railwaymen)

That was exactly the kind of game I just love freezing my bollocks off to watch.

Crewe were fairly shit.

Crewe would've won that if their idiot player hadn't touched the ball before it crossed the line when he was in an offside position.
Poor game.

We sounded awful 2nd half. Missing half the 1st team doesn't help though so a draw probably isn't a bad result.

Well that's a day of my life I'll never get back.

Awful game between two awful teams. Lowe was brain dead for touching Hollands' header but in truth we didn't deserve to win. Barnet had four chances in the last 10 minutes to kill us off and they really should've scored both one on ones they had. Another winless game, that's 1 in 13 and I once again wish for the imminent sacking of Steve Davis as I have done so for the last 2 and a half years.

We're hideous to watch. We should've set up to attack today and Davis goes to the press "I was happy with a hard-earned point.". Fucking negative tosser will take us down to the non leagues if we're not careful.

I would disagree that we were awful. And that's coming from someone who finds it VERY hard to compliment this Barnet team of late.

Good to see the Davis out action is in full swing again. Still a point off the play-offs though and until we hit the bottom five or six, his job is safe as houses.

Next up, time for Bowler to step aside. One thing seeing the team slide into oblivion on the pitch. To see the entire club being hammered by the national media today is heartbreaking.

Dangerous territory too, this isn't Morse and McGarry puppets (or muppets). The likes of the Guardian and Daily Mail will make the club a living hell if they want.

This was my first game of the season and I was pleasantly surprised by our performance, especially in the second half. It wasn't just aimless hoofball, we at least tried to keep possession and work the ball up the field. We lacked creativity through the middle and Gambin was hopelessly lost on the right flank in the first half, but we got stronger as the game went on and could easily have pinched all three points. Mason-Clarke made an impressive cameo appearance and looks worth a run in the squad and Akpa-Akpro looked a handul when he came on so some positive signs there.

I thought Crewe looked tidy until they reached the final third, when they rarely looked threatening. Looked a team devoid of confidence which is perhaps not surprising given the negativity surrounding the manager and the club in general.

The table is so congested but we looked like a side capable of sustaining a comfortable mid table campaign, especially as Akinde will always be a threat. However, based on that performance we would certainly need to improve to mount a sustained challenge for a top ten spot.
