1 win in 10 will stretch to 1 in 11 today. Fully expect us to lose.

0-2 (Collins, Cox)

Henderson in for Payne which means we have a similar side and style to what started against Pompey.

We are not very good if you can make our defenders run towards their own goal and, in Akinde, Barnet has one of the best channel runners in this division. I'm hoping we sit deep but not resort to hopefully punting the ball upfield when we win... er... Barnet lose the ball.

No idea what the result will be.

Glad I had money on us to lose today. I've never seen a team become so lacklustre when a new manager comes in.

Says a lot that I'm posting on here during the game. Just don't want to watch this shit.

A world class goal from Akinola and a cross/shot from Campbell-Ryce shouldn't be allowed to paper over the cracks of what was yet another dull, flat performance from us today. We had so much of the ball (giving Nugent the get out of saying that we dominated) but we never look like doing anything decent with it. Our play getting the ball forward is so slow and ponderous - it completely negates the point of winning the ball back so quickly. JCR will rightly take MOM for his assist and goal today, but IMO he still played shit. He takes about 10 seconds to beat a player doing all these good-looking tricks and by that point any attacker in the box who was free to receive the cross is now comfortably marked. This happened time and time again - it's infuriating. He's not the only one guilty of it - Mauro and Bover were doing it too. It's not rocket science - get the ball forward quickly and you create more space for yourself. Don't need to spend time beating a man if you're already a step or two ahead of him.

Everyone bar Champion (and others will argue JCR) were forgettable - even Akinola, overhead kick aside. Just flat, dull and lifeless. The less said about the performance from Johnson and Santos, the better.

Crawley didn't do overly much - they were happy to let us have the ball most of the time as they knew we weren't going to do much with it. Lelan needs to come off throw-in duty and Murphy is a right dirty, annoying fucker of a centre forward.

Poor, poor, poor. Get well soon Casey!

Hang on, "get the ball forward more quickly"....ALLEN IN!!

I've not yet seen us under Nugent but will be there on Wednesday. Sounds as though we have gone completely off the boil ever since we started throwing money around with god knows who in mind as a permanent manager :dk:

We can still finish respectably this season but now need a win urgently. Planning for next season can then commence as soon as we scramble over 51 points.

It was a poor game between two poor sides that was illuminated by a wonder goal by Akinola. We got away with it thanks to a complete fluke and a draw was a fair result as no team showed enough quality to deserve to win it.

Bover is completely wasted playing that deep. He has as good a delivery as I can recall for a very long time and needs to be higher up the pitch. Hopefully it was just a knock that forced him off at half time as I'd be very disappointed if he was subbed in favour of Watson who again looked below average.

In the space of a month we've gone from live play-off contenders to playing out the season under a manager that apparently is only contracted until the end of the season.

You're so right about Campbell-Ryce, he displayed that trait again of taking too long to deliver a cross during tonight's match.
Tonight's match against Yeovil was so bad it didn't deserve a thread of its own. We're so disjointed as a team.

It's ridiculous RBB. I wasn't even there tonight and could read between the lines of the Twitter feed to know just what that performance was like. Again, a poor performance. Again, a late goal. Again, another game without a win. We've got one of the worst forms in not just the league, but the entire football league.

Who's to blame? It simply HAS to come down to Nugent. He took a team that was on a slide, admittedly, and turned it into a complete plummet. He's been the catalyst for our meltdown recently and he's lost confidence before he even gained any. Has got to go as things are getting worse and worse with no signs of abating. This is absolutely fucking awful.

Yep, you got it in one.
I just wonder if our the absence of Jack Taylor has been a big factor in our lack of cohesiveness? Heck, we're feeling the absence of Curtis Weston too!
Having said that, it's clear that John Akinde's performances have deteriorated since Nugent took over. He seems to have a reverse Midas touch!

I don't think it's due to the absence of one player. The performances of all players have gone downhill with Nugent - Johnson has been very poor lately (I know he's been injured but still), Akinde COMPLETELY off the boil (mainly because he spends more time on the wing holding the ball up now) etc.

In fact with Akinde now what we're seeing is what other clubs saw of Akinde throughout his career. It's worrying as simply put, right now with his confidence levels and current role - he's just not very good. Again, fault lies with Nugent.

The Yeovil game was the first I've been to in quite a while and barring a lively opening 10 minutes, we were devoid of ideas and generally very poor. Whilst it is of course disappointing to concede so late (again!) I don't think we did not do enough to win that game.

I think it's unfair to blame Nugent entirely for our current predicament - we were on the slide before he took over and he inherited a lopsided squad without a right back or a partner for Akinde. We have conceded three equalisers in stoppage time in the six games he's overseen which further skews our form.

However, the shape of the team on Tuesday was odd and there did not appear to be any sort of gameplan, or at least certainly not one which involved creating chances. Akinde was starved of service rather than looking off form. He had zero opportunities to get in behind their backline and our play in the final third is far too slow.

Realistically, this season is now completely over so we've got to start looking to next season. My initial thoughts are that none of the youth players have looked up to this level yet barring Jack Taylor. Some of them will develop with game time but I think we need to be quite honest about some of the others when it comes to building for next term.
