everyone goes on about the overrated Will Grigg chant that caught fire. But I remember the original Stevenage version which was much better as it fitted the song more. (Freeman's on fire, your right back is terrified).

I'll ignore your classic anthems for now. I think Man Utd's 'Spirit in the Sky' effort is a great effort. Bradford had a terrific song about Andy Booth which doesn't bear repeating, as did Arsenal about Adebayor.

Citeh had a good one about Sun Jihai, but again it was a bit racially stereotyping despite being harmless in most people's eyes.

I think my favourite for simplicity was Chelsea's Frank Labeouf song. The popular "he's here, he's there, he's every bleeping where" was sang, until Labeouf revealed he didn't like the song as he though swearing was crass. Next home game? "He's here, he's there, we're now allowed to swear, Frank Labeouf, Frank Labeouf." Fabulous.

Worst for me would be one of those generic ultra songs made famous by the might of Accrington and Aldershot and popularised by Palace and Wednesday.

The worst has to be "that's the way we like it" song. Cringed the day Millers sang it.

Pretty sure last time we were in the Championship our away fans accused Charlton of being Dirty Northern Bastard's, which I think amused and bemused them at the same time.

I can look back in many years time when I'm old and grey and proudly say that I was there in the Manchester Bar Blackpool when Will Grigg's on Fire went viral.

*shudders* I rarely watch Premier League games, but whenever Manchester United play an away game, I'd just switch it off because of that song. Probably the most annoying song at the minute and thats before it continues for 30 mins.

Why ? They shit ?
Very. I went to a match a couple weeks ago and the home fans' most creative chant was "F*ck LA, F*ck LA, oooooooooooooh..."
(The away team was from LA)

Are you thinking of their 'into something good' song? I feel exactly the same if so.

Oh yep thats the one. But lets face it, any tune that Gareth Gates thinks is worth copying, is pretty bad as well.

The Seattle 'Fight and Win' video was one of the strangest (and quite frankly a little disturbing) football chants I've seen.

Bury fans indecisiveness on who they hate more is always quite embarrassing. Every time we play Rochdale it's 'we only hate Bolton Wanderers' followed two minutes later by 'we hate Rochdale' etc etc.

We played Aldershot the weekend after Marvin Morgan wished all their fans dead, and spent pretty much 90 minutes singing 'Marvin Morgan, he wants you all dead' not the most creative song ever but was really funny at the time

Our only regular song I especially like is 'we are the left/right side of London road' which usually everyone gets involved in

He tweets from his car,
He tweets from his bed,
Marvin Morgan,
Wishes you were all dead.

I really hate that George Best 'Spirit in the Sky' thing that Man Utd fans sing repeatedly throughout some games. Most annoying chant in football.

Give over, some of your fans sing about Tom Lockyer "defending like pulling your daughter" led by Mark Watkins.

United fans also sing their adaption of nick nack paddy wack song continuously, which is bloody shite and annoying.

All of our moronic supporters goad Luke McCormick with chants of 'murderer' pretty much continuously which is pathetic.

I was always a fan of our song for Christian Ribeiro which was quite simple and was essentially "you'll never get past Ribeiro, he's magic you know.....you'll never get past Ribeiro". It's sounds better than it looks typed!!

At the Emirates a few years back, on padded seats and with smoked salmon and cream cheese bagels on sale in the atrium, we sang "Wolves is a shit-hole, we wanna stay here"

When follically challenged Russell Slade was manager of Charlton some fans adapted an old music hall song in praise of his hairless head:

Hair, hair, hair, he's got none on his noddle
But we don't care, when we win as a doddle
The fans all shout here comes a thoroughbred
But we don't care, he's got no hair
We're proud of his old bald head.

We've got a much better atmosphere at home than we used to but the downside is the songs are mostly inoffensive generic shit that everyone can join in with. Miss the days of the random belter being composed by 200 pissed away fans in Swansea or Torquay.
