So, there are five or six minutes left in the game, and you are one goal up the manager decides to try and play out time. Who is your best game closer, the one who can legally kill time with the ball? Who is the best you have seen?
For us it is clearly Frank Nouble. He specialises in going to the opposition corner post with the ball and staying there as long as possible. I can’t remember which recent match it was but he spent over three minutes where he got the ball from a throw in, two or three oppo players tried to get the ball of him, he eventually tired of keeping them away and kick it at one of them and it promptly went off their leg for a throw. Rinse and repeat. I am sure he did it about six or seven times in a row. It must be extremely annoying, but in it’s own way it is a thing of beauty seeing him hold off several players by the corner flag.
