I ventured onto the Division One Forum, having clicked on one of the latest threads on the right, then returned very quickly as I don't want to be accused of having ideas beyond my station...I didn't visit the League Two Forum until after our promotion was confirmed, didn't want to jinx us in the play-offs.

They have a thread about biggest wins and defeats supporting your team and, as imitation is supposed to be the greatest form of flattery, thought we could have a go for our teams. So, here are mine:

Biggest win: 8-0 versus Hyde United - At home on the first day of the 13/14 season. Ironically their best player was probably the goalie, who pulled off a string of decent saves, sadly let down by the ten players in front of him.

Biggest defeat: 4-0 at home against Newport County in the season just ended and by the same scoreline away against Stevenage in the FA Trophy in the 08/09 season. The Stevenage game was possibly the worst I have ever seen Rovers play, we were simply dreadful, a bit galling that we showed up for a game where the players didn't. I have seen us concede five goals on a few occasions, but manage to score several ourselves so I went for a couple of games with the largest margin of defeat.

I only started watching Rovers around 15 years ago, in that time there have definitely been bigger defeats, I was just lucky not to have witnessed them.

Biggest win was the great 7-1 victory against Burton in a match between promotion rivals in 2013... probably up there as my favourite game ever.

Worst defeat 6-0 v Fulham in the league cup... luckily I missed the 6-0 v Swindon.

Fulham we’re having a good start to the Prem season and expected the reserves only for their line up to be full strength and Dembele and Co battered us... oddly we started that season aside from that defeat with something stupid like 8 or 9 goals conceded before Xmas!

Biggest wins I’ve seen for us were Grimsby 7-1 Luton and Grimsby 6-0 Bath.
I can’t think of any particular really bad hammering that I’ve seen but I’ll have a think on it as there must be some bad ones in there somewhere.

Biggest win that I've been at was Carlisle 7 - 0 Farnborough during our Conference season, which I believe is still our biggest win since an 8-0 against Hartlepool way back in 1928. I was also at Crewe this season to see us win 5-0 which is our joint biggest away win.

I've never seen us lose by 6 goals though we have lost by that amount in my time supporting us (to Peterborough back in League 1). I've seen us lose by 4 a bunch of times, including a number of home defeats, mostly in the couple of seasons before relegation from League One. The biggest defeat I've seen was away to Tranmere in the FA Cup in 2001 when we got beaten 6-1. I was living in student halls in Liverpool at the time and managed to convince a couple of lads from my block to come with me. It was grim, though I got drunk enough not to care too much.

I was lucky enough to witness both our record "league" wins, 7-0 against FGR and Weymouth both at the Abbey. They were actually non-league wins.

Our record actual League wins were 6-0 against Darlington (1972) and Hartlepool (1989), both before my time. (Edit: Bugger. I forgot our 7-0 against Morecambe af couple of seasons back - I think I was there - I've got the programme. Kevin Ellison even came on in the second half)

I was lucky enough to be photographing penguins in Cape Province for our record league defeat, 7-0 at Luton this season.

Whatever the stats say, the worst defeat I've witnessed was Histon 5-0 in the FA Trophy.

Think the biggest I’ve see was a 5-0 home win vs Chester back in the 90s.

I think the biggest defeat was 5-1, funnily enough against Chester at SJP on the final day of the season (I think) around 1996. Unsurprisingly we were in a relegation scrap and only stayed up because results went for us.

I know it’s not what the OP said but the bigges amount of goals in one game were two 6-4s about 2 months apart in the 93/94 season. First one was a 6-4 loss home to Reading and then we won by the same score home against Fulham on a rainy Tuesday night with Mickey Ross bagging a hat trick.

Won 7-1 against Rochdale in 2006. We had a run in September/October of Rochdale, Barnet away (won 5-0) and Swindon away (won 1-0, first vs second to go top). Them three results always get a mention. Anyway, the Rochdale game. We were 3-1 up at HT and well and truly battered them, particularly the second half. Could have been any score in the end.

We had Frecklington, Forrester and Stallard, they had Glenn Murray and Chris Dagnall up front (and Le Fondre?) along with David Perkins and Gary Jones in CM who at the time were all very good players for L2 level.

Biggest loss that I can recall was 6-0 at home to Rotherham in 2011. Not an ideal debut for our on loan 'keeper in that game! That was our relegation season and we still had 8 or so games to play, I think. Most knew we were in trouble before that game, despite the gap to the bottom two, but that performance reinforced what we all knew. Tilson had definitely lost the dressing room at that point.

Biggest win was that 8-0 v Hyde first day of the season 13/14. They fell apart after having a man sent off early, before that they were playing us off the park.

Biggest defeat 7-0 at Cambridge back in 09-10. We were a mess on and off the pitch, 1 point from our first seven games, no manager and about 12 senior players. Luckily for us they took their foot of the gas as that was without doubt heading for double figures. And that would still have flattered us. I still stayed till the end and clapped the players off though, cos I'm a top fan. That equalled an 8-1 defeat to Moor Green in the Southern League apparently, but I don't remember that one.

I also saw us get battered 7-1 at home by Hereford in Colin Addison's last full game in charge of us. Tbf they were playing like Barcelona that year though. We weren't the only side they annihilated.

7-1 defeat to Sheff weds in the cup in the 90’s at hillsborough. The defeat wasn’t as bad as the attitude of the stewards which was just shocking. Weren’t even allowed to stand up.

A recent game for biggest win, the Burton game in our promotion season which finished 7-1. It was the wifes second game, and I had to tell her that this wasn't a regular thing. Loss wise, I remember Blackpool beating us 1-6 at VP with Paul Stewart ripping us to shreds (Spurs signed him soon after)

I missed all our 7-0s for various reasons - I am prone to missing a couple of games a season and it’s just how it landed. So the biggest wins I’ve seen have all been by five goals - 6-1 v Bristol Rovers in 91/92, 7-2 v Mansfield in 98/99 and 5-0 v Port Vale’s reserves recently spring to mind. I have a feeling we also beat Carlisle 5-0 in our first year back in the league (14/15), I vaguely remember Robbie Simpson scoring a couple.

Biggest defeat is a toughie. Fortunately I was at uni for our 7-0 mauling v Sunderland and missed Luton away this season on principle. I didn’t go to Histon in the FA Trophy as it was the trophy so didn’t count. The biggest I can remember being at is a 5-1 defeat against Mansfield around Christmas time in the Conference about 2011ish. Can’t think of any others.

Yeah I miss all the high scoring games generally. I saw my wife’s team, Norwich, lose by five goals at Liverpool a few years ago and I randomly went to Arsenal 7-1 Blackburn when it was Henry’s cameo return.

Losing 8-1 at Hartlepool. Jeff Stelling was gutted as it was a Friday night game and he couldn't go on about the goals going in on Soccer Saturday. Also lost 7-1 to Sheffield Wednesday in an FA Cup game (but we did score the best goal of the game).

Biggest win 7-1 over Luton in the FA Cup and a couple of 7-0 wins in our conference days and although not a big win, deserved of a mention is Grimsby Town 6 Burnley 5.

From whilst I’ve been supporting we haven’t had many big wins..

5-0 away at Lincoln in 2010, 4-0 vs Plymouth in 2014 are big wins that come to mind...

Defeats.. 4-0 away at Carlisle in 2005.. 4-0 at home to Wycombe in 2006... 4-0 away at Chesterfield in 2014, 5-0 away at Shewsbury in 2014, and 6-0 away vs Coventry in 2016.

Have seen us beat Bournemouth 9-0, Redknaps first game in charge I think.

We lost 0-6 at home to Barnet under Steve Thompson once, can't remember much as I try to block out the pain of that performance in the early 90's but was probably the worst match I have ever seen us play.

Ajose and Lowe up top?

I always remember that game because you cleared a corner to just over the half way line, the ball came down with snow on it and Ajose, on the turn and over his shoulder just killed the ball, which drew gasps and a ripple of applause from the crowd. Ridiculous touch.

We got dicked 7-1 away at Hull in about the 94/95 season, the next match we got dicked 5-0 at Brum, we actually finished the season 3rd and a couple of points off winning the league! Seen us lose 5-2 away at Man City, it was 2-2 with less than 10 minutes to go if I remember rightly

I remember as a kid, and I am talking aged 6 or 7, the Vale hammering us 5-1 at home courtesy of Alex Oxley Chamberlain's old man and Uncle Neville. Coventry bummed us 6-1 at home in the Championship, and Peterborough mauled us 5 zip at home, as did Coventry under Davis, the famous "the only difference between the team was the 5 goals" or whatever boanheaded statement he made.

As for wins at home, seen us put 8 past Hartlepool and Cheltenham, 7 past Colchester and Barnet, remember smacking Wrexham for 6 in the cup, the year after they had beaten Arsenal, seen a few 6's fly in against Halifax and Torquay in the 80's, seen loads of 5-0, 5-1 matches.

As for away wins, seen us win 6-0 away at Chester in whatever the Football League Trophy was called then, 5-1 away at Hull in the cup, 5-1 away at West Brom in the Championship, 5-1 away at Peterborough and my favourite big win of all time, the 7-4 away at Barnet.

That’s the game. Lowe and Ajose brace and one from Andy Howarth via a goalkeeping error.

8-1 thanks. Luckily I wasn't there for that.

The worst home defeat I've witnessed was the 6-1 defeat to Coventry two weeks ago. The worst away defeat was a 7-0 defeat to Crystal Palace in the Worthington Cup in 2002.

In terms of wins, the highest away win I saw was 5-0 at Mansfield in 2006 and 5-0 at home to Brentford in 2005.

Was that Hartlepool game the same season we lost 6-0 at Oldham?

It was, I missed that game though as I was away on holiday. Oldham let everyone in for free that game as it was the start of new ownership. IIRC it was 6-0 at half-time. We also lost 5-1 at Vale that season but we did beat Barnsley 6-1 when Phil Jevons scored four.

7-0 against us. No, I wasn’t there but it was a sign to come during Stimson’s time in charge of us. The biggest defeat I remember witnessing was 5-1 at home to York City in 92/93, our only home defeat of the season!
Biggest win for me was 8-1 against Fisher Athletic in 90/91. Those were the days!

Fisher Athletic, there's a name from the past. Where are they now, do they still exist?

I was at our 7-0 win over Merthyr Tydfil in the FA Trophy back in 2006. Great side that played that day, four goals for George Boyd, Steve Morison bagged one, as did Steve Guppy. Bradley Johnson in midfield running the show. Managed by Mark Stimson who was appointed as Waltham Abbey's manager a couple of days ago, what a fall from grace he's had.

In terms of defeats, biggest I've been at was a 5-0 reverse away at Wrexham at the start of the 08/09 season. We suffered a 7-1 defeat at the hands of Luton this season but I was fortunate enough to give that one a swerve.

That Oldham game for some reason I fancied us to get a draw and that was back in the day when I was addicted to gambling so I had us in an acca to draw and we were 5-0 down at half time! :surr:
