Cant see a thread for this so here goes. Battered by Blades when we played at home earlier in the season even though they only equalised with 30 seconds to go.Since then we have really come on leaps and bounds as can be seen from our league position, got to say it is giving me vertigo so high up.
Five signings so far this month to strengthen the squad and Wes Burns coming back is great news after his heroics kept us in league 1 last year. Fancy us to keep our unbeaten run going and coming away with a draw 1-1

My last home game till bolton on the 25th Feb on holiday for the next couple. Can't say I'm looking forward to it in any way at all. I find home games so boring and not really enjoyable at all, that will change if we ever go up and actually have 3/4 thousand away fans here a few times a season. I fancy us to win tommorrow and win convincingly. I think fleetwood will go for the win which could help us.

4-1 sharp 2, freeman and duffy.
Att. 19,281 (78 away fans)

Recent home matches have followed the same pattern.
Teams show us too much respect and sit in the trenches defending deep packing out their defence.

We totally dominate the game but try to be too intricate playing through the oppostion defence. We have numerous corners and have numerous goal mouth scrambles but we lack physicality so always get muscled off the ball. We're creating loads of half chances but our conversion ratio is really poor.

Then the 2nd half oppostion open up a little and try to get us on quick direct counter attacks. Our defenders lose concentration and are vulnerable to speedy counter attacks.

I expect Fleetwood to park the bus and try to frustrate us
We are due a win, Fleetwood are well overdue a defeat.
We are all swell overdue keeping a clean sheet.

I have a good feeling we'll win, predict 2-0.
I'm looking forward to hopefully seeing James Hanson make his debut. If our passing game doesn't work then we be forced to "unleash the Hanson".

We always have loads of corners (between 10 to 15) at Bramall Lane this season so hopefully Hansen can use his physicality to create mayhem in the box helping Billy Sharp to pick up the pieces and score.

Blades 2 Fleetwood 0 Lavery and Sharp the scorers
Attendance 18,996 with 85 away fans

The last time Fleetwood conceded 8 was in early 60's, playing Wigan in 1st Qualifying round of F A Cup at Springfield Park. We scored first and then went downhill, lost 8-1 and yes I was there !!

Back in the pub. Every team has to have a bad run at some point , January is the time to have it. £10 double on reading and fleetwood for £210 looking good.

After all the bollox I've endured from United fans lately about them coming for us that is quite a laughable result.

You seem to have got very lucky, with a penalty saved by the Reading keeper

Tonight sends out a message that Fleetwood are up for it. We have kept under the radar so far this season so now we will start feel the pressure with this result. Blades had'nt failed to score in something like 24 consecutive matches at home and Fleetwood had'nt failed to score in any away matches all season. I am still pinching myself at the results we are achieveing, it is incredible and all points to Southend beating us this Saturday !
The best 2 teams in league 1 are still there and will remain there to get automatic promotion. I can carry on dreaming...........

Full credit to Fleetwood Town and 0-2 was a fair result.

Fleetwood played with German efficiency. Great tactics from Rosler.
Not pretty, little flair, but such a well drilled outfit, defensively very strong
And dangerous on the break.

Sheff Utd controlled possession (like we always do).
We had many more shots and many more corners (like normal) than Fleetwood but for all our attacking didn't look like scoring.

Normally I look back at our bad finishing and bad luck hitting the wooodword, missing penalties, having goals disallowed but not this time as we didn't create any clear cut chances.

So no excuses, we lost to the better team and I think if we played Fleetwood again at Bramall Lane we'd probably lose again.

The only postive for SU is that we've strengthened in the JTW with Hanson, O'Shea, Carruthers and Riley and none of them played tonight due to being injured or not register in time.

Another postive is that we again had loads of crosses and loads of corners but we're small and lightweight up top and always get outmuscled so never score from crosses or goalmouth scrambles. So with big Hanson in the team it gives us a tactical option we've not had all season.

So do I. I'm confident still

I'm still confident too.
We've done really well against teams that play open football and have a go at trying to beat us.

However we've struggled against teams that sit back and defend deep in numbers showing no ambition. Then they lull us into a false confence and then get us in the break.

Away from home we should be fine but Chris Wilder needs to solve the puzzle of getting through a packed defence at home.

I believe he thinks James Hanson from Bradford could be the key.
We just need someone with physical presence who is good in the air then I think we'll score for fun. That's the theory anyway.

At the end of Feb we play Scunthorpe followed by Bolton BOTH at Bramall Lane. They could be massive matches, over 25K crowds and like a cup final atmosphere. Can't wait.

I'd be pleased about Fleetwood potentially coming up if their allocation wasn't such a piece of shit.

Good to see Ben Davies playing regularly.

Good result for the Cod's and apparently, according to Sky and local radio, it was no more than we deserved. It's nice to see some proper football fans like Sheffield Utd not making excuses and I for one think they will go up automatically. If we get in the play offs it will be a great season but I'm not becoming too expectant as results can turn quickly, and it's how you react when you get beat that counts.if we finish above 10th I will be happy as we nearly went down last season. However we now have a very good squad and have scored in every game bar one this season. We now just need to sign Kyle Dempsey permanently. Good look to all Blades fans this season. I really hope you make it back to the Championship, which is the least that you deserve. I'm sure you will! If we can join you it would be great but I think it may just be a step too far this season

Sorry pal I just can't get my head around you playing Fleetwood.

Typical Wednesday fan arrogance I don't expect any less from most of you. We lost to the better team last night it's completely irrelevant the size of club they are. They are 4th in the same league that's what matters.

Feel Rosler is the best manager in the League and unfortunately we will do well to keep him if progression continues.

Afraid it might not be just Rosler who is on other club's radar, Bell/McLoughlin/Hunter are stand out players and Bolger is coming on leaps and bounds, the price of success eh but a nice problem to have

Good retort my friend. We are in the same league. This Wednesdayite has no clue about footie. It's like you saying that you can't believe Wednesday have lost to ipswich at home when they are 8 places below them. Can't wait for you to get promoted and smash em! Good luck for the rest of the season.

You may get promoted yourselves then you can beat them. Wednesday lost to the smallest club in the championship so I'm presuming he thought that was laughable too. That's the problem with a lot of Wednesday fans size of club means fuck all , teams are in the same league because of there ability on the pitch not how big they are.

Not quite the same though is it, you are Fleetwood Town who a few years ago were playing pub football they are Sheffield United who a few years ago were 'light years' ahead of us...

Credit to you though having a great season and there's no reason you can't come up.
