If Paul Hayes starts for Wycombe on Tuesday this will have already ruined my match thread title.

Five-star Crewe will almost certainly be unchanged from the side that taught Grimsby a footballing lesson on Saturday. We will also be looking for revenge for the 5-1 humbling Wycombe dished out to us on a Tuesday Night back in September which I identified as the point where the wheels came off our good start to the season.

Wycombe have been flying this season but a 3-0 loss to an average Stevenage side is cause for concern, as it is for any club who concedes to Steven Schumacher (quite possibly one of the worst midfielders we've ever employed). I back Gareth Ainsworth's men to bounce back and give us a game on Tuesday Night to showcase their playoff credentials.

Would be happy with a point and I reckon we'll get it in a tight 1-1 draw. (Bowery; Kashket) 3253 (213 Wycombe)

I imagine Jombati will be dropped at right back for Harriman who is much more consistent. We can't be as shockingly bad as yesterday but it depends on who Ainsworth drops as he's got plenty to chose from after the 3-0 drubbing. With our recent form i would take a point as well.

Wycombe are unlikely to be as bad as Grimsby, I just want to see us keep up the same intensity and attacking football. Still a lot to prove, i.e. whether Cooper can be consistent, whether Dagnall finally scoring was a flash in the pan.

Hoping yesterday has got the players on board with Artell & Lunt's way and it's push on from here.

I think double training has finally opened up some warped and underachieving minds. Was speaking to my old man last night and he struggles to comprehend how today's professional footballers can succeed in the game if they're in training for no more than 2 hours then go to restaurants, cafes, shopping centres and the like and switch off completely. Not many people have picked up on it, but I genuinely believe that away from the fact that Davis was tactically retarded and the off-field turmoil that's seen us make the headlines over the last few years, this has been the biggest problem within our squad for a good number of years now.

Double training will have these players thinking about the game every day, it won't cause burnout because Dave is smart enough to know the limitations of his players and these players have to earn their days off through good honest hard work. Cooper looked so sharp on Saturday and if he develops the consistency required he will be a seven-figure player.

5 more wins keeps us up I reckon. I'm not getting carried away by an excellent performance yesterday, but I do reckon we'll survive and I reckon the wins will come sooner rather than later. We'll get them through this intensity and hard work and I'll be interested to see what Dave will do in the Summer to push us on for next year.

The Wycombe match will be the acid test now to see the difference in approach and attitude post Davies. When we put in a good (a Davies standard good) performance you knew full well that there would be a massive dip in the next match, Carlisle Boxing Day and then that utter shite served up against Accrington being a prime example. I've seen more desire in the 2 home matches under Dave and Kenny than in the last 2 and half seasons under Davies, I will be going into the 2nd match of a back to back home game sequence with some kind of optimism for the 1st time in a long time.

I would hope that the players feel they have a point to prove after our poor show on Saturday, but we'll see how it goes. The most important thing is not to lose this one. Fine with a blip, but we've had a few not so great results on the bounce now, and we don't want it to become a habit.

Just back. Well Wycombe were a much tougher test than Grimsby, thought we stood up to the test well, started brightly but then conceded quite a bit possession in the first half. Thought the second half was more end to end, and I would have taken 1-1 after Wycombe equalised, but fair play to the Alex for pushing forward, think we all know what would have happened under Davies. Thought George and Ben handled the 'Beast' very well, despite his shin roller trickling in. The officials were a bit of a joke, and Wycombe liked to hit the deck a bit to easy, nice to see that vale helmet Ainsworth get sent packing. Another excellent win.

Crazy the difference from just a couple of weeks ago. We're finally exciting to watch again; Dagnall looks like a new player.

Did actually think we were going to struggle to hold on in those last twenty minutes. The players looked dead on their feet, going to take time to build the fitness to play at 100mph for 90 minutes after Dull Davis. Penalty was soft but nicely taken.

Laughed at the Wycombe twitter for suggesting that we and the referee robbed them. The thing is, despite being on top for most of the second half, Wycombe were a very limited side. Their gameplan centred on lumping the ball to Akinfenwa. They just didn't do enough to win the game purely because of a poor first half and chronic indecision whenever they approached our box before self-destructing and conceding a penalty (need to see it again)!

I thought we deserved that win, yes we weren't as good in the second half but we played some good stuff at times, nowhere near as great as the Grimsby game but these were superior opposition and we stood the test well. Hopefully Danny Hollands' injury isn't too serious but Ryan Wintle can fill the void I'm sure.

Absolutely delighted with Dave Artell's tactics, his post-match presser and his praise to the entire team which they thoroughly deserved. To think there was a minority of brain-dead morons who constantly wailed "Who can do better than Steve Davis?" every time we called for his thoroughly deserved sacking. Artell plays attacking football, he plays for the win, he makes these players believe in themselves unlike that credit hogging, player slating, nepotism practising, defensive football loving fraud of a manager.

Roll on Blackpool away on Saturday, let's hope we can get an away win to really top off this fantastic week!

Still clinging to that fake rivalry you have created then?
Good win and good to see Crewe moving from the pub league danger zone but don't spend all of your time creating a rivalry that isn't there

the penalty was soft but you can see why it was given, our player was shoving yours completely unnecessarily when your guy was heading away from goal. Disappointing but meh, onwards. We need to snap out of it if we want to stay in the playoff spots though, even with a game in hand over a couple of teams.

That does sound like a daft thing to do - taking a risk in giving the ref a chance to make a decision (and with the way they seem to be these days it could be anything!)

Has young Alex J played much for you?
