We ended the run of defeats on Tuesday but the performance was shite, this isn't a happy hunting ground for us either and although Brentford have had a dodgy start and have been hit by injury, their starting eleven is still a capable one.

We've badly missed Paul Gallagher in our last two games, he links up the attack and midfield and is able to retain the ball in attacking positions. Although we haven't scored from a set piece in the league yet, I still feel much more confident when he's standing over a corner or freekick. Really hope he's available as the service against Bristol City was woeful.

Hard to judge but on first glance Doyle seems the most similar to Beckford out of him and May, so he's the one i'd be starting at the moment. The defence needs looking at as well, we need a genuine right back on the pitch, whether it be Vermijl or Woods.

Pickford
Vermijl, Clarke, Wright, Cunningham
Humphrey, Welsh, Johnson, Gallagher
Garner, Doyle

Kirkland, Woods, Huntington, Kilkenny, Browne, Keane, May
Not confident.

Our form has been pretty terrible, but we looked much better at Leeds, and Boro are just a bogey team for us. Know how to beat us and do it well!

I'm a little more confident about this one - I'm not jumping on any doom and gloom bandwagon, but if we want to kickstart our season this is the type of game we'll have to win. It will be tricky to do though, keep picking up injuries (Gogia, Hofmann and Tarkowski all doubts, on top of the 7-8 other injured players...)

The team will probably be the below, we'll need to come out with a win, but the only time we've done that this season though was against 10 men, so if Preston could get a man sent off early on that would be greatly appreciated!

Team:

Button
Colin, Dean, O'Connell, Bidwell
Diagrouraga, Woods
Kerschbaumer
Vibe, Djuricin, Judge

Subs: Bonham, Barbet, Tarkowski, McCormack, Clarke, Canos, Hofmann

Do you play Daniel Johnson in a midfield 2?

Nah, we usually play a three. Welsh sits in front of the defence and Kilkenny who has been in the team recently plays deep as well, with Johnson pushing on. If it was the line-up i posted above on Saturday then it would be more of a lopsided 4-1-3-2.

Brentford fans - I've been told you rejected £5.5m for Tarky in the last window - reckon you'll sell him in Jan for £6m+?

Got a ridiculous feeling we will win. Hmm. Maybe I'm still pissed.

:bl: Apparently Fulham got as high as £3m-£3.5m but we said no. Against Leeds last weekend he was outrageously good - just needs to make sure his weekly performances are that impressive and he'll become a top player. Would doubt we'd well him this season if he carries on performing well. We made a mint in transfer fees this summer, so definitely don't need the money, but he'd be one of our two first choice centre backs given the injury crisis we've had. Would certainly doubt we'd accept any offers before next summer

My old man works with the husband of Tarky's old babysitter - a family friend basically - and he said, with some confidence, that you rejected £5m and wanted upwards of £6m.

He's class Tarky - have said that for a while - and it used to make me chuckle seeing figures of £3m+ being banded about for Harry Maguire when, IMO, Tarky is the better player. Problem for us is that we can't demand high fees like Sheff United and teams of that ilk can, so we got screwed by you! The only real benefit is that I think we get 25% of any profit you make, and you only paid £200k for him I think.

Yeah, we got him for an absolute steal of a price. Don't mind you having a sell on (everyone seems to when we buy a player these days...) hopefully we can both benefit a lot should he ever move on.

He's been found out a bit in the Championship over the last year, his main failing is that he has become a bit useless at dealing with balls played over the top for quick and or strong strikers. He's still young so will learn to deal with them, and he is getting better, but it is taking a while...

Still think he is one of the players we have most likely to play Premiership football, along with Jota, Button and Bjelland. (Would have said Gray and Odubajo but they've both gone now :( )

Couple more players confirmed out for this game, wouldn't surprise me to see some youngsters getting a start.

Injured:
Tarkowski
Tebar
Macleod
Saunders
Gogia
Hofmann
Colin
Bjelland
Jota
McEachran
Hogan

In light of this confirmed list, I'll go for this being the team:

Button
Yennaris, Dean, Barbet, Bidwell
Diagrouraga, Woods
Kerschbaumer
Vibe, Djuricin, Judge

Subs: Bonham, O'Connell, O'Shaugnessy, McCormack, Clarke, Canos, Udumaga
Our injury list is getting a bit ridiculous now, can't remember a time when it was this bad. Arguably 7 of our strongest starting XI are out.

Our season is being held back massively by all of these injuries, so frustrating. Got to feel sorry for Marinus, he has barely any options and it isn't any of his fault.

I don't think we've ever beaten a team who are suffering an injury/ suspension crisis, are in abysmal, record breaking form or are suffering from any sort of adversity.

I remember when Sunderland were close to matching Darwen's record of most games lost in a row and they strolled to a 2-0 win at Deepdale.

Certainly wouldn't want to drop McCormack. Our midfield has strengthen immeasurably since he came back into the fold. Woods at right back for me.

Looks like we're having a go at Brentford today, big decision to drop Wright and Welsh, especially the former who has been our best centreback imo.

Sounds like we've rode our luck a bit and Pickford has pulled out another wonder save but i'll take this at half time.

Brentford's subs have turned it around, seems like we've sat on this lead, as per and we've been punished.
