Always disappointed to lose but didn't really expect anything from this. We'll sweep this under to rug and move on to Villa under the floodlights on Tuesday.

Back to something approaching our best today, felt more like last season with Knockaert at the heart of a fine breakaway goal for the opener.

Duffy settling in at the back and Murray amongst the goals again having had a quiet few games previous (he should've had 3 or 4 really). It's all looking alright.

Barnsley had a few semi-bright spells and looked to have a bit of pace about them but we restricted them pretty well seemingly for a side who've scored a shedload of goals so far. Only recall Stockdale making one meaningful save.

We were terrible compared to our usual standards today. No-one looked particularly driven other than Scowen and Kent when he came on, our back 4 were poor and conceded two laughably soft goals and we barely tested their keeper. Brighton are a good side but we didn't need to let them stroll around picking passes and run at us whenever they fancied. Knockaert took the piss at times.

Oh well. We were due a couple of crap performances after our brilliant start, chalk them up and move onto Tuesday night. We're better than today suggested.
