Arguably the "easiest" of our next 4 games.

Can't be arsed with a "humorous" thread title - Sorry.
My third visit. Hoping to see a goal this time.
I'm not sure how injuries in our squad will pan out but if we have our best available then we may have a chance. 3-1 Rovers on their way to automatic promotion, and maybe re-acquantaince with their bosom buddies across the city (can't see it though).

Always get the fear when ex-players return, whats the bets that LDV and Harrold both get on the score sheet.

How have the been for you?

Harrold missed the home defeat to Exeter with a knee injury and LDV was an unused sub.

I'd take that again if it helps us to a home win.

Can we not have the 2 mins of madness that cost us the away game please Gas?

Need to bounce back here but there are no easy games in league 2 and I'm expecting another tough test on Saturday.

I haven't looked at the history but I always think of Crawley as a bit of a bogey side.

We've obviously had a great March until our defeat at Carlisle on Monday but Crawley have had a pretty good month too. Only 1 defeat from their 6 games including an impressive win at Luton.

The first goal is going to be important because after losing on Monday if we go behind it could get very edgy.

We'll have Lockyer back from international duty which is a big plus but it doesn't look like either Mansell or Sinclair will be back from injury.

The pressure will all be on Rovers because it's a game we really need to win if we're to stay in the battle for the top 3.

They have LDV?! He was one of the best wide men I've ever seen. Is that on loan or a permanent signing?

Loan from Fleetwood isn't it? I remember him going to a L1 side in the summer.

We have to win this, otherwise I think our top 3 chances are realistically done as we'll have entered a 'blip' phase too late in the season. Tough game though, let's hope we can start another run!

The Gas will show just how bad a defender Dunne is, we sold him to Blackpool and he can't even get in their shite team so got loaned out to Crawley until the end of the season  Another League 2 player who thinks he's better than what he really is :sna:

Harrold has probably been our player of the season. Always tries, appreciates the fans and has got a few goals as well. Haven't seen enough of LDV to say either way but he hasn't really stood out in games so far.
Another poster mentioned Dunne. He started well but has veered towards below average. Always seems to put the effort in though.

LDV is our player. Released by Fleetwood. Started like a train but hit the buffers in his last game. Maybe because he has hardly played all season. Matt Harold is our player of the season IMHO. Says a lot because I'm not really a fan. Start of the season we had two decent left backs in Scales and Hancock. Now we have Dunne. Better than playing Bradley there but not by a lot.

As for the game. We are not good. Trust me on this. We will shut up shop and launch hopeful punts upfield to no one in particular. If you have anywhere near decent centre backs we will lose.

that sounds like our least favourite recipe tbh, i'm hoping for us to score an early goal or it'll be huff and puff our way through to a 0-1 loss. Harrold to score obviously.

I went to a gathering last night to remerber my cousin (Ben Hiscox) who sadley died a year ago yesterday when he had a accident playing for his local football team. Stuart Sinclair found out about it and turned up together with Mark Mcrystal. Top lads! They spent over an hour chatting to Bens Family & Friends at The Beaufort Arms which was packed with Gasheads! To give up their own time and show us their support was fantastic and we all really appreciated it. Here's hoping Mark scores the winner tomorrow and Stuart is back in action ASAP to help push us towards League 1!!!

RIP OUR BEN and UTG!!!!!!!!!!!

A pretty innocuous/naff first half. I thought Rovers would be more positive.
2nd half we conceded another near post goal from a corner and were on the back foot. We should then have had a penalty, but Fenelon got booked instead for diving. A dodgy free kick then resulted in a very well taken effort for the 2nd, and the third was a re-run of the first.
Considering how full the ground was, I thought Rovers fans were very quiet until you scored.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

A pretty uninspiring first half turned into a comfortable, routine kind of win.

We had to be patient, Crawley were dogged and put every man behind the ball even early doors. I know we have an exceptional home form but I can't remember the last time a keeper began time wasting at 20mins, 0-0.

Scoring the first was crucial and it wrapped up the game.

Not very often I'm critical of the opposition by oh dear, Crawley have to be the most boring side I've seen in 20 years. How anybody can watch that every week is beyond me.

They didn't come to play any football, just parked the bus from the 1st minute and wasted time at every opportunity. The keeper took about 3 minutes for every goal kick!

To be fair it worked for 50 minutes because we struggled to break them down. Gaffney failed to get his shot in when clean through in the first half but that aside we hadn't looked that dangerous.

However, once we got in front it was game over. Crawley finally had to come out and in the end 3-0 was the least we deserved. Montana could have had 2 and he was only on the pitch for 10 minutes.

I assume Crawley don't play like that every week. Reminded me a bit of us under John Ward.

We're going to need to play better to stay in the top 3 but it's all about the 3 points at this stage of the season.

I wasn't there, but there were some teams last season wasting from from about the 10th minute, but tbf, they were teams who average about 900 at home, so it's kind of understandable. I've always been a believer that unless its top vs bottom, if you're in the same league you should have a crack at it, at least.

I said in my post earlier...We will shut up shop and launch hopeful punts upfield to no one in particular. I didn't mention we waste time. I'm so used to it I don't even comment on it.

I also get told off for saying we aint good. My team and all that but it is tedious to watch.
