Massive game on Wednesday night at the top. Any idea Burton fans why this is on Wednesday I assume it's due to Derby to playing at home against Boro on Tuesday?

I'm quietly confident going in to this one so I'm making the trip. The line-up at the moment is pretty settled and key players are hitting form Michael Timlin and Barry Corr have really shone in the past few games and after injuries and form has messed with our back 4 all season I feel we finally have the right people in the right positions back there.
I don't really know how Burton will play this game when they came Roots Hall they played for a draw which they got and being honest in their position that's all they need to do again. We win this and I will really start to believe we can get top three, a draw won't be the end of the world, a loss and I'll be looking at the play-off dates.
0-1 - Barry Corr
Clueless as to how many we will bring over 300 on a Wednesday night would be a good effort

it is due to Derby yes. stupid i know.
i would be very happy with a draw to keep the eight point gap between us.

play like we did first half sat, and we win..the second half performance however was poor so u could win!

1 1 for me.

Anything bar a Burton win and I'll be happy. Should be a great game! Good luck both.

Phil Brown can fuck off. Quite possibly the worst substitutions I have ever seen fucking awful putting on Payne in a very physical game and leaving Hurst on over Worral who like all season was total shit. Brown has to take responsibility for throwing this game away. Total shit

First what a game
Second that ref must be the biggest bellend ever to set foot on a football pitch, has he ever kicked a fuckin football in his life? i doubt it.He actually helped Burton win the game by sending off Weir because they didnt need any midfield tonight because all Southend did was hoof the ball all night and his stupid sending off just galvanised Burton to have a go having been bullied out of the game in the first half.

I here to be shot and ill say iv'e seen some shit football at Burton but that tripe served up by Southend tonight was the worst performance iv'e seen in years. They should have won pulling a train but when your'e only tactic to win a game is kick the ball as high and far as you can all night then i suppose in the end you get what you deserve.

In the second half. The first half we were on top long ball but we were the side who looked the most likely we went in 1-0 deservedly

Burton know how to win ugly, 2 players off injured inside 30 minutes, a disputed penalty saved by the keeper, a player sent off plus a referee who made it 12 in opposition.
Don't know what JFH said at half time but a magnificent effort by the 10 men and 2 great finishes from Palmer and El Khayati to turn the game on its head and secure an unlikely but deserved victory under the circumstances.
The Brewers being in league 1 next season is looking a distinct possibility !

We're not Champions yet

1-0 down at half time, 10 men in the second half and still won!!

You obviously weren't at the game but your comments are amusing................

To be honest we don't play that every week and we're in the play-offs barely no-where. Crowd under 3000 tonight must of been particularly disappointing

Sub 3 thousand gates are the norm for us.
Yes it is disappointing but we've got Direby County just 15 minutes down the A38.

You will beat us next Sat Phil Brown gets out thought against every top side we play we will probably go in at half time 1 up then come out second half play like twats and very minimum amount of goals you'll score is 2. Can't hold on to a lead against any top side away. Burton, Wycombe, shrewsbury we were all leading at. We won't go up because we get sussed out by half time by any decent side with a manager who has a clue

Not bitter my arse, we totally outplayed Southend by getting the ball down 2nd half, 2 cracking goals and after 37 games we are top on merit.
"possibly the worst champions this division has ever had" ? We aren't champions just top of the league !
Your attitude is typical of a well established league club towards us, We may be a small but growing club but we are run correctly and have been building for a couple of decades now. Its not our fault that many clubs we are competing against are where they are due to financial mismanagement, Bury being a prime example of spending what they havn't got.
If we get promoted, which at the present time looks quite likely we will do just fine in league 1.
For what its worth I thought Bury looked probably the best team we have played away from home this season but very average when they came to the Pirelli.
Winning ugly is a great characteristic to have in league 2, finding a way to win when you have lost 2 players to injury inside 30 minutes, had a ridiculous penalty given against you, which our keeper McLaughlin saved, a player sent off in dubious circumstances and conceded on 45+2 after a blatant foul in the build up, then come out and win the 2nd half on footballing ability with only 10 men with loads of guts and spirit will do for me and my fellow Brewers supporters.

Tbf we've beaten Burton, Luton and Stevenage at home and drawn with Wycombe we still have you and Shrewsbury to come to Gigg. We need to beat Shrewsbury if we have any hopes of automatic, probably need to beat you but I think it'll be a draw.

Being honest the number 15 who I think got MOTM had one of the best halves of football individually I've seen in the past couple of seasons he made up for the other cm getting sent off. Class above.

Really wouldn't surprise me if we do a Luton now and it goes tits up... Another winding up petition came into light after the game even though the club released a statement saying an agreement had been agreed and it dismissed by midnight still shows uncertainty round the club, after the indoor training complex purchase I thought financially we were sound. The only positive if it does go tits up is that Brown won't be here next year his out of contract in the summer so it's obvious Ron Martin is waiting to see how this season pans out. I actually think we have the quality in the side to go up automatically but ever since Phil been here we don't create anything, his tactically inept. The best players at the club are all Sturrock signings apart from Worral. Sturrock the best manager we had when he joined he had 4 players on a contract and just about 0 funds still got a squad together and we got 84 points that year but wasn't enough to get promotion..84 points this year and pretty much every other year you're in league 1 he should never of been sacked. Sturrock in charge with the funds Brown has had I'd be very confident in saying we'd be top 3.

Saw the brief highlights for this, they didn't assist as to why Weir was shown a red card.

Good cool finish for the Burton winner.

I was and didn't see the elbow but not saying there wasn't one, how Corr didn't get booked last night I have no idea, foul after foul after foul.
