They should do seperate shows for the Championship, League 1 and 2, otherwise all you get is a few seconds of each game.

Not sure they “lost” it more like they couldn’t be bothered with it in the first place.

How will we ever know who has put together a good squad with a good chance of promotion without the expert insight of Adam Virgo?

Oh wait... apparently Colin Murray comes as part of the deal.

What I don't get is, when you're as generally tinpot as Eurosport are, and you manage to score the rights to Europe's 5th most watched division, you say right, let's put on one hour-long highlights show per week. Never mind just the same paltry half hour of Leagues One and Two that Channel 5 gave us. At least 5 could argue that they have a lot of programmes to schedule that will get more viewers than the football league, what the fuck else do Eurosport have that might get a few viewers above their current baseline of zilch?

We'd love to give you more Football League action but if we don't show some more Giro d'Italia or Home Nations Snooker League then we'll have the British viewing public to answer to.

Meh, seems like the exact same show, only moving channels. Still 90 minutes starting at 9pm, still being presented by Colin Murray, same guest pundits and occasional manager/player no doubt.

Anybody seen the coverage BT Sport give the Conference? Absolutely brilliant in comparison to the shambolic effort by BBC/C5/Sky Sports with the football league

The Giro is far more watchable than extended highlights of Crawley vs Morecambe tbf tbh.

It’s all on the internet. Hardly surprising there’s not much of a market for it it. Can’t say I ever watched Channel 5’s coverage. The days of Matt Smith presenting ITV’s highlights at 1am on a Tuesday were the golden days.

I liked the BBC’s coverage with Maniche and Steve Claridge or Leroy Rosenior. It was always quite understated but the chat around the leagues was reasonably listenable.

I find Colin Murray (his accent is so ducking irritating), Mickey Gray (he was always Michael in his career - where did Mickey come from?!) and Iwelumo (boring) a poor blend in comparison. And C5 has adverts. And it’s C5, frankly - that’s enough to make it shite.

Iwelumo must be the only ex-forward I've seen who never gives credit to other forwards and slates defenders at all times.

I like Colin Murray - I like that he gives his own opinion and will question a pundit's view.

Ultimately, it's going to be the exact same show, just on Quest instead of C5 isn't it?

That's much better and is how Sky present their 'Goal Express' programme, or whatever they call it.

I don't want talking, just highlights.

Bring back Football League Extra, perfect format for all three divisions, even had a nice segment on random clubs (irrespective of league position), no unnecessary punditry and even a nostalgia segment part the way through.

I haven't watched the highlights show in ages. Purely because it's the same old same old. Same old teams being analysed, an OTT obsession with successful/big city clubs each week and constant repetitive soundbites from people just happy to be on the TV. Bin them off and go back to basics.

You know as well as I do Carver that we haven't had terrestrial TV in Carlisle for many moons and years now, maybe in some parts of Lincolnshire it's still maintaining a stronghold, but we entered the digital age long ago here in Cumbria.

Sky Sports did a passable job of analysing the football league with their short lived FL72 show.

You're lucky to have terrestrial mate.

When I was a kid my nan used to have one of those TV's with a portable ariel and if you were lucky and got the dial right you might get a clearish picture on BBC 1 or ITV and if not you had to try moving it around the room to get a signal. Bear in mind that this was late 90' s/early 00's. Still got that tv somewhere I think.

They are owned by Discovery and own UK rights to the Olympics. They have deep pockets.

We have a tendency in this country to be very UK centric; Eurosport on the continent is watched by a lot of people. Snooker wouldn’t have the following it does in Eastern Europe and Germany without it.

Nobody has 'just terrestrial' anymore.
The question for me is whether I can get it on free view as I can't get certain channels due to the transmitter. Free Sports for example.

When I was a kid if I wanted to watch something different to the downstairs tv I had to go in my Mam and Dads room and watch it on their black and white tv after a good few minutes twiddling the aerial to get the picture on, I can remember watching Randall and Hopkirk deceased and Quantum Leap on their old black and White.
Happy days.
Pretty sure it's still in my Dads bedroom now gathering dust.

He disrespected me by calling Carlisle crap.

Every week I prayed for it to be Leroy. If it was Claridge you could hear the collective groan of FL fans around the country.

Jesus, have they not switched off the analogue signal up in Cumbria?

Yeah, Claridge just seems to have a load of generic phrases he trots out that sort of loosely fit the side he happens to be giving his "expert" opinion about. Blatantly winging it most of the time.
